Buying/Selling/Trading 101

I don't know if it bothers anyone else but when I click a thread and see "this object, this much, any offers?" it makes me sick.

Guys do you go to wal-mart or anywhere else and read a piece of paper with a description(like 5 words) and throw money across the counter?

NO.

When posting threads, give detailed descriptions always and if you can get/have access to a camera, TAKE PICTURES. As the buyer, I want to know every ding and every scratch before I throw money up.

Also, when stating your price, PLEASE post if it's with the price including shipping or if it's additional for shipping.

These are very simple procedures but yet it annoys me and many others when we're interested in a product, new or used.

Chances are, your item will sell a lot quicker if you follows these simple little rules.

haha AGREED. the biggest thing that bugs me is when people say "email me for pics"..you dont go to a car dealership and the salesmen says "here is what the car has, if you want to see it in person, come back tomorrow" .. they have the product there. haha. it takes just as long, if not longer to send pics through email. make a stupid photobucket account and never have to worry about it again, it takes 2 seconds to post pics.

It's a pet peeve of mine when everyone asks me for information and has NO intention to buy the product. Not posting pictures is one way to weed out the people who don't want to buy. I don't want to deal with people who ask me "why are you selling?" when I post the reason. Most people, if not everyone, know if they have the intention to buy something before they see the pictures. This is not a car dealership, and this is not wally world.

I have all the pictures taken. I did not say that I would not take pictures, and I am not "too lazy to take a picture." If you send me a pm about something and it's not sold, I'll send you a picture. If you're "too lazy" to send me a pm for the pictures, why would I think that you are at all interested in buying the item that I'm selling? At least if I get an email/pm I know that you are actually interested. Just because you send me a pm doesn't mean that you have to buy whatever I am selling. If you don't like it you can "put it back on the shelf." Since you like the wal-mart analogy so much, maybe you'll understand if I tell you that I don't like window shoppers. Who wants someone hanging around all day asking them questions if they don't have the means to make a purchase? Maybe you do, but I don't.

You can ask anyone who's bought anything from me that I ship asap and provide the tracking number within the next day.

People have different views on how to do things. This is mine, and you have your own. This is a forum and different ideas are what it's all about. If you don't like how I post something in the classifieds, then don't deal with me. But do not bash me and call me "too lazy" when you do not know the first thing about me and have not bought anything from me.

reading comprehension FTW. I never bashed you. I asked if you were lazy. I don't know you from a ham sandwich.

It's not the buyers place to put forth the effort in order to start a transaction. If someone post a thread with intentions to sell an item then why would they not post as much information as they can. Don't you want to sell an item when you post it up for sale? If you don't care one way or the other if you sell it or not then that's another thing. Windows shoppers are everywhere, deal with it. So you can honestly tell me you have never backed out of buying anything? If not then I'll shine your shoes.

/me thinks if I wanted to sell an item then I would make the first post as informative as possible so that I can have everything out in the open for a person who shows interest.

PS, your attitude stinks.
PSS, I wouldn't mind making a poll to see how many people believe in your way of marketing.

why go through the extra steps of pm's just to get the pictures... of you have 3-4 potential buyers.. that 4 times you have to send people pictures.. OR you can post the pictures ONCE on your thread and you're good to go. common sense FTW.
