All that in mind, I share the same feelings with you guys. But the vid wasn't bad, that was some sick riding there.

Three things to say:

1. Thats Afterbang's music, give it back...

2. I don't really know what A&F is - Australia, you see - (I have a reasonable idea, however) but damn it looks like some lame ass crap in so mant respects.

3. The actual vid and riding was very cool, and I've gotta say I enjoyed watching it. I've no doubt that it's promoting the sport a lot. I just dunno if I like where it's being promoted. That sorta crowd and what they can do scares the crap out of me... Oh yeah, I'm glad the two hosts were in it, cos otherwise I wouldn't have pissed myself laughing when one of them cracked the sh*ts after being pushed in.

that pisses me off a little bit, I hate to see how the sport is like you guys said, going to turn into a shirt where it says something stupid like those A&F surf shrits. Its not cool that preppy guys try to be cool by being fake wakeskaters, honestly wakeskating is a sport that allows you to just have a great time with your friends and just chill , get good vibes of everyones riding.
By allowing company's like A&F to come in and turn it into another marketing campain that just ruins the sport. In fact I dont believe that wakeskating is a sprot I think its more of a lifestyle, and those preps are taking wakeskaters melo lifestyle and blowing it up to a huge circus. I dont know what im talking about, I just think this isn' cool.

minus gravity was right A&F=posers with money

No matter how hard you try and avoid it an 'extreme sport' is always going to have these posers. Its funny though, you see people saying they want wakeskating (or any sport promoted) but when it does they complain about these posers. Get used to it, its all about the sport growing.

your right, its hard to except , but we have to. Its just so annoying that they take over sports. IF you think about skate boarding it wasn't except as a serious sport in society until the 80's ( i could be wrong) but wakeskating has only really been around with reall wakeskate only companys for about 5 years. I just think that it might be growing to fast and it doesn't have the time to really build a solid history like skateboarding did. Thats just my opinion

Well, a&f in wakeskating isn't anything new...speak with your dollars. If you don't like it, don't buy it. The same thing goes for nautica...

Josh, I noticed the same thing. It reminded me how much I need to buy the actual cd by that group (I already have the afterbang soundtrack).

And jono, by building a solid history, do you mean having the peaks and crashes in the industry so some of our favorite companies go out of business and the riders are practically poor? I'm being slightly sarcastic there, but skateboarding started out as a really REALLY popular activity...as far as I can tell, it was much more popular than wakeskating is now. The only thing you need to build a solid history is time and good people pushing the sport...and I think we have that. And in my opinion, it's going to be slightly easier to build this history due to the fact that a lot of the tricks that we're doing have already been done on a skateboard, so there's a kind of a guiding light...

But with that said, I hope we can find some other things to really give wakeskating its own identity, so it's not "an off-shoot of wakeboarding" and some sort of skateboarding wanna-be type activity (I have no doubt that some see wakeskating like that). You know, skateboarding used to mimic surfing, but now it is so far from that...but with little hints of the past. Anyway, that's what I was thinking about, and blah blah blah....ya got tree fifty??

Looking for the light. Look at skateboarding, lately its been taken by every company, flipped on its head, made into fashion statements and the in thing, etc, etc. Yet there is still the core croup of riders, who don't care about that, they are skateboarders, true skateboarders. You can tell them apart from the posers a mile away, that's something you can't take away from the sport. And I hope the same for wakeskating, there will be posers, people who pretend to do it, companies that just want a quick buck, then people who bag on us when its not cool anymore, yet we'll still stick at it all through that, because thats what we do and who we are, wakeskaters and we'll support the companies that think likewise.

But I think the vid is good, introduce the sport a little. But good god thats as far as I want them to go.

Here, let me ease the tension...pull my finger.

And smile, because there were pony rides at the cassette booth today.
