Anyone that has an Omen, how do you sand the rails to make the board sit higher in the water. I feel like the board is really weighing me down in the water. I love the way the board pops, but I like the feeling of riding higher, plus it's less stress on your arms. Thanks for the help.

I doubt that changing the rail shapes will have much affect on how deep you ride. If you go to the Integrity website, they have a section on how to shape reshapable rails...
http://www.integrity-wake.com/test/user%20manual.htm
Check this link. It should be very helpful. Very Happy

The Revolts rails are actually REALLY dense. So if you plan on sanding them down by hand make sure you've got a lot of free time haha. I started grinding mine down with a bench grinder, but if you do this you must have a VERY steady hand. I actually ended up giving up before i sanded enough down to make a difference. I decided i didn't wanna chickity china the chinese chicken it up and that i already loved how it rode Wink

fletch how much do you weigh? and how fast do you ride? i set my perfect pass at 22.0 but i'm gonna play around next weekend with different speeds to see what i like best.

wakeshredder, Shaping the rails actually makes all the difference in the world, it's really a totally different board. For people that like to ride slower or ride the cable a sharper rail is a must!

The deck was designed to be ridden fast, hence why so many people notice when they speed up a little the board comes to life and doesn't have the drag you feel at 18 mph.

A belt grinder works really well on the P-Tex sidewall, its really pretty hard to screw it up beyond repair unless you sand into the concave or something.

SleuCrew could you please post pictures of how to modify the rails to get this thing a little more lively on a cable. I got this board a couple of months ago and just can't ride the damn thing on our cable. I love the design and the workmanship on the board but it just sits here not being ridden because of the way it rides out of the box.

Do I have to grind onto the white topsheet to get the rail sharper? How much do I have to remove? Do I leave a rounded bit in the middle so as not to hang on obstacles?

HELP Very Happy

SleuCrew, yeah pics on how to shape the rail so it sits a little higher in the water would be great. I ride between 22-24 depending on the boat. Rode the board for the first time yesterday at 22. I only got to ride for like 15 minutes due to the weather, so I'm gonna try it again without shaping the rails, but I have a feeling I want them sharper. Thanks for the help. Otherwise the board is awesome.

Keep in mind, and also IMO, the rocker also plays a role in how a 5 stage "drags" in the water more than a 3 Stage. Don't flame me ....just my personal experience.

I reshaped mine slightly and it made a world of difference. You don'y have to take of much, but it isn't quick either. Just need a little sandpaper and patience.......

tribal, Can you post some pics of your rails, or give a description of how you did it? Do you just sand it downward like at 45 degrees or what?

I'll try to get some pics up in the next couple days. I went at a pretty steep angle to try and get the bottom edge thinned out without too much sanding. Use a course grit [like 60] to start.

This was borrowed from Integrity... this is how you want to shape your rails if you want your deck to ride higher. Just make sure you don't go too deep and hit the concave or the core. Doing so WILL void your warranty.

SleuCrew Thanks for the pic. I was thinking more like pictures of a board that had been modified already to ride higher. I understand the buildup of the board, just want to know how exactly to sand the board before I make it ride even worse. Or at least tell us what change makes what difference i.e. 90° angle does this and that, 45° does so and so...

Thanks Very Happy

sleu, that pic that you just posted.. is that what it should look like when i'm done??

and do i do that the whole length of the board? or do i leave a flat area in the middle for consistant lip slides?? (shuv's up onto the wake) will they catch?
