im stuck trying to decide which skate to get. ive heard some bad things about the 06 impulses but other people say that the 07's are a lot better made. my brother has a revolt and i love ridding that. i would just share it with him but he's going to college at the end of this summer. any ideas on which skate i should buy?

If you are considering between the two definitely get the Omen as long as you have a say in the speed that you ride at. I've got an Omen and hate it on the cable, where we go at about 18mph and the thing is just way to hard to handle. As soon as you get behind a boat and take it quicker than 20mph it I love it.

The Impulses last year were a joke. They fell to bits way too quick. This years are better, but not by much. They ride real nice but dont last either. We've had them delam all over, the base doesn't last over obstacles. I ride about 4 hours per day so boards take about 50-60 hits over obstacles every day and the only board I've found that really holds up well is the Omen and my old Mutiny.

Buy an Omen and it will last you.

True, the 5-stage sucks shizzle in hell, but he likes his brothers and it's kinda ok behind a boat... You just have to get used to it. I do prefer 3-stage though...

you are the only person i know that hits 50-60 obstacles a day, even if they ride 4 hours a day.

Lf hold up well for a wood board, just as good as my neighbors satelyte, 41-42 that is. if u like the omen then get it, ther are alot of threads about the LF impulses check those and c what they say.

Bustamove I estimated. I do about 20 Laps of the cable per hour and hit a minimum of 2 obstacles per lap.

As much as I'd like to ride wood boards because i like the general feel of them they just don't last.

ShAkAjAcK, when are you looking to purchase a deck? Now, or next month or what? Also, what kind of riding do you do most? Do you ride behind a ski/boat, or do you hit rails a lot, or ride at a cable park a lot...?

If you're gonna ONLY hit obstacles (like...ride it at a cable park) then get an Omen or Integrity. There's no wood board in the world that's gonna hold up to the type of abuse that these two brands' decks will, and no wood deck manufacturer will even argue this point. That said, if you're gonna ride it predominantly in the water, many prefer the feel of wood to that of the composite. The Omen is a 5 stage which seems to be hit or miss with some people, but if you already know that you like that board then why not just go with it?

And for those of you who have ridden the 07 Impulse- which board did you ride? The 40" or 41" or 42"?? Chris O's 41" Impulse(s) have been tough as nails compared to last year...he has yet to break either of the two that he's ridden and we're halfway through the year.

scott a, i mainly do boat ridding but i also do tons of rails and other shizzle later on in the day i just want a board that will last me a long time and i feel comfortable with. i think i might end up going with the omen because i already know how it rides.

for sure...if you know how it rides and you're comfortable with it, then I'd definitely go with that.

Omen Revol=BadAssBoard. Don't listen to the haters knockin' the 5-stage, most of them just weren't skateboarders (for over 2 years) before they became all out wakeskaters.

Ride both and see what one you like more. This shizzle comes on this site way too much... just demo boards and see what you like. Everyone likes something different... I personally love my LF Reed. I ride almost everyday on cable, hitting rails, and it is lasting like a champ. But if you like the Omen, go for it. Just make sure you get out there and try out a few before you make your decision.

i own both. i looove the omen. the impulse is also sweet but like everyone else said they just fall apart and i havent even rode it that much.but then again i have the 06 so idk. i have like 5 friends that dont wakeskate a whole bunch and my friend landed his first shuv on he omen... and he wasnt coming close on the other boards. and i cant really feel the difference between the 3 and 5 stage rockers i like em both...unless im just not wakeskate structure educated.
i say yay to omen for sure.

JamesBoarder Did you change the rails on the Omen at all to make it ride a little smoother on cable?
