Mr. Top Hat at least they won't flip much with their feet stuck to their boards!! It is a dead give away....

Mr. Top Hat, I want to try it for a couple reasons. Definately not to look better at wakeskating, but to try and get better for sure. My theory is that I'll be able to work on higher ollies easier because I won't have to worry about the board so much. I think it could be a good training tool like using a board on the tramp. If you do some higher ollies with the board connected (but still going through the same motions as a regular ollie - not just jumping off the water because you can) then I think the muscle memory would be built up faster then on a tramp. Its closer to the real thing in that respect. Now take them off and practice some more with the concentration on popping the board and not needing to worry so much about landing.
Anyway, thats just my theory on one way to use these. Its going to be interesting to see how those who are trying them out will take to it.

edrex, your logic bothers me. why spend time on the water doing something other than wakeskating in a hope to become better at wakeskating? it seems as though that water time would be better spent actually wakeskating if your goal is to become better at wakeskating, not shawkboarding.

I agree wih Mr Top Hat, I think you will pull up the board more with the shawkboard on your feet....and you will not increase your feeling for your wakeskate.......and it will be disappointing to be on your wakeskae after being stuck to your board fora while........but hey...thats my opinion

I can understand that. But I don't have a tramp to try things on and I don't have someone that is better then me to give me pointers as I ride. So any little edge I can get to try and progress I'll give a shot. This may or may not be it. I won't know til I try it and since I'm getting free gear from them its definately worth the price. Cool

im going to invest in a shawkboard. because i have enough cash, something new to play on, and i have a old swing i never ride, tramping would be fun, and w2w help with out the worries of ripping my back leg off + shawkboarding makes you look so effing cool Rolling Eyes

my free demo shawkboard just arrived in the mail. but now i'm 2000 miles away on vacation for a funeral. Sad

buuuuuuuuuuuut when i get home i'm gonna demo it, just like i said i would, and give a fair review, just like i said i would. and then still return to wakeskating.... just like i said i would.

Mr. Top Hat, i'm with you on the whole thing... but it's not gonna kill me to test out something new for a new company. besides i'm the only one around here that wakeskates... so i'll happily pass the skawk around to spark some interest in the sport so that i can get people to come out and drive the ski for me more often.... Cool

oh, and i'm gonna only wear one shoe and then sue for my busted ass knee. Rolling Eyes jkjk

liquidstunts, i just got mine today to...i will be able to ride it on monday. I am also going to give it a full review with pics, vids etc. this guy deserves an honest, unbiast opinion (im actually excited to ride an armada 43 strapped in). i love wakeskating but i can see this definately being a new and fun way to ride. its great for beginners or for anyone lookin to get out on the water and stand sideways...

stompin9s, So is it a board or did you just get the velcro sh¡t to put on a board you've already got?

twgapk, no ones trying to make you a fan. Don't worry, we all know how hardcore of a wakeskater you are. Birthday

Anyway, I tried it out today. It was fun, but definately not near the same feeling as wakeskating. I still think it'd be a good transition for wakeboarders that want to try skating and I also think its probably good for beginners. I could also see it as being alot of fun for good riders that want to take an easy set and land some inverts or something. I'll give it a couple more shots when I go out next time and get a better feel for it.

Slapdown, they sent out boards with the velcro stuff on it already, and they sent out shoes that go from regular wakeskate shoes to velcro shoes by taking off the removable sole. If you were to order from the site you would just get the velcro to add to your own board but I think they sent out boards with it so that people would actually give it a try without having to make changes to the board they already ride.

the only reason i would have even asked for a free shawkboard is so i could rip all the shawk crap off and regrip the free armada.

shawkers, please do not post your unbiased reviews in the general wakeskating section. it is not wakeskating and does not belong here, thank you.
