i just started skating and i have few issues with my board. I ended up with a 07 HL Catalyst 112 from the local shop. I feel really unstable on the deck. Is this the transition that is normal from wake boarding or am i missing something. I'm questioning the board i bought and if i should look into something wider and possiblely longer.
\BTW i'm 5'6" 155# towed behind my Moomba Boomerang |

Hey,
When you first start out it feels very unstable. I had been wakeboarding for 4 years when I first tried wakeskating and felt very unstable the first few times. Don't worry soon you will start to feel more comfortable on the board. Just practicing cutting back and forth, and going across the wakes.
The Catalyst 112 is more then big enough for your size and weight. In wakeskating its not quite the same as sizes for wakeboards. "Almost" anyone can ride any size of wakeskate its personal preference.
Congrats on starting to wakeskate! Don't worry again its only going to get better the more you go. |

I just started myself and I am know what you mean. I felt crazy unstable at first but I am getting the hang of it pretty quick. It is a very out of control feeling. But I love the freedom it gives you to move. Give it hell. |

I think a bigger board might actualy make you feel more unstable since it would sit higher in the water, i used to feel really unstable when i would ride my friends composite board, when i got my own wood deck it felt like a world of difference _________________ I run show where ever I go. |
