I rounded the corners last night. So as for the construction. The board is made of 1/8 Russian Birch. It is laminated to 3/8 inch thick. I built the shapes on the deck by building up with 1/8 inch pieces and sanded the hell out of them to make them smooth. The "shinny" coat is Spar Urathane. It has probably 5 coats on it. I am adding the graphics right now and I will probably put another several coats on it. Thanks for all the help and comments. I can't wait to put it on the water this weekend. I will post pics of the construction.

They are glued on with gorilla glue and then the base is built up with wood epoxy. They are SOLID! I did some test with scrap wood first. I plan on having it all done by friday night so I will post the finished pics. Thanks.

I actually thought about it a lot before I built them like that. If you move your foot to the back of the board on a flat and level "build up" then when you kick all you are relying on is the traction of your shoe. Where as if the buitld up has a slop to it you will grab the board a little more. ??? Thats the theory at least. We will see if it works.

you should have made the slant up to the concave on the nose and tails steeper |
Is there anything else I did wrong? Thanks.

. If I ever decide to modify the fins I would be looking at about one nights worth of work. No problem.

If he doesn't hit rails or anyting, which I can't imagine he would with such a fine specimen, he should be fine. Gorilla glue is like beyond "Glue".

Tyson, it looks like you're doing a nice job on that board. It's cool to see people make their own rides, and then see how people have improved upon the construction over the years.
and just know that I'm Lol-ing to the "is there anything else I did wrong?" comment. It's a custom board, bros!
