try both and see which one you like more, i would always skate without fins, but then i started going wake to wake and it helped plus it forced me to pop my shuvs and 180's alot bigger so i would say ride with them.
and welcome to the wonderful world of wakeskating. _________________ Sometimes I'd rather live in a tent then bust my ass to pay the rent. |

i rode no fins for a long time.... because my fins broke on my LF aaron reed 42. and then i lost my shank fins for my byerly. .
then i rode coricluster's catalyst with fins, and fell in love with fins all over again.
now got my new omen and ride that with fins... LOVE IT
riding no fins will help you to learn to use your edges properly. but fins are more fun IMO |

liquidstunts, i agree about the fins. ive been riding a year now a just got a 40 walton and deciced to ride with the fins and love it. board feels a little more stable in the water now.j_jaquette, by far having fun is the most important thing about wakeskating |

twgapk, yeah the only time i'll ride no fins is for rail sessions... and even then... still prefer the fins. i think fins help pop higher ollies too.
j_jaquette, you ride boat or ski? or winch |

yea dont run fins, until you feel confortable with the way the boards rides, then throught them suckers on, and just kill it. _________________ l_o/------------------------<l |

hell yeah bro..nothing like the first time on the water. just keep doing it and trying new things and youll get the hang of it. its all about figuring out how to do things your own way.. i used to ride without fins it was alright, then i rode with them and it was that much cooler.
anyways, congrats, and welcome to a new way of life. |
