SHAWK, i have a few questions. do you feel like this would substitute as a legitimate wakeboard in a contest? And by the way i am not ragging on you guys, i think it is a cool idea and i want to try it. I am just confused by your approach. Second, what type of wakeskate are you guys using on those boards, or can you just use any old skate with grip or foam on it. 3rd, are the landings harder than on a normal sized, properly fit wakeboard? Can you easily become detached from the board if you fall hard? By placing this on your board, can you loose warranty?

Our system is designed for fun, not necessarily competition. It was ridden for fun in the ACW Pro Tour, of course this led to a DQ but.... fun.
We have 2 systems; one is designed for wakeboards, surfboards, kiteboards and the other is for a wakeskate.
On the wakeskate you must remove the existing pad in the same manner you would to replace it with new grip tape.
Yes, you do come free from the board on hard falls.
Please consult your board manufacturers for their warranty policies.

so we have to rip off the grip tape of an old wakeskate and replace it with velcro, and then wear "wake-walkers" when we wakeskate?

i havent read most of the posts in this forum, but i do know a little bout this shawk board company.
i fully disagree on what they are doing. in my eyes it pretty much pointless. (hate me if u please)
iam from Australia, and i did compete in most of the pro tour stops. and Shawk seriously has wasted a lot of money, and i think no profeit has been made wat so ever.
they were just giving these things out to wakeboarders so hopefully ppl would think 'hey, that guy is riding it, it must be cool'
They have a demo team which is pretty much full of the young big tallent we got over here. and i do have to say they would all have to be in it for the money. as i heard each rider gets $1000.00 AUD per demo.

Gnarly Dancer 42, i kite boarded a few times when i lived in Australia and i think the binding system is not a bad idea.... i just don't think it is right for wakeskating. but wakeboarders on the other hand may love the idea..... cause we all know they wanna be just like us anyway
i wanna demo it when it gets here though.

No....young kids slaughter millions of gekkos in harsh conditions in Thailand, and they glue the litte gekko feet to the board....simple!

| this would only really seem cool for a friend of mine. shes like claustraphobic to wakeboards because she hates being tied down to a board and cant move well in the water and it scares her. so i told her to try wakeskating, but she cant keep her feet on the board well. that is the only circumstance that i would have any interest in this, becuase if not i would just buy a fish wakeboard or something.

Im not gonna lie. Today i recieved mine. Its a pretty interesting system. They even had a pad so you could ride with bare feet or shoes. Its not that bad. I was really surpised.

Chrishau, if I understand correctly, all they are looking for is feedback whether its positive or negitive. I think since they sent out free equipment its only fair that you share your honest opinion. It wouldn't be fair to them if everyone said it sucks because they wanted to save face here.
I got my tracking number today. Can't wait to see what the stuff is like and try it out on an old wakeboard.
Cheers,
ed.
