Well, I think it's cool to make your own decisions. So if you want to wear a vest, wear one and if you don't, then don't. Personally, I've never ridden without a vest, but I never based that on what pro was or was not wearing a vest.
And as for talent, cory kraut was a great wakeboarder, but when you get the wind knocked out of you (or whatever hapened) water isn't going to save you because you're dope...

He did drown...I don't remember exactly what happened to him (if he got the wind knocked out of him, or if he was knocked unconscious, it was something like that) but he wasn't wearing a vest. And he also did it on a simple trick that caught him by surprise. I believe he was also riding in a body of water that had a current.
There's this other instance with tara hamilton. She was learning crows or something and she ended up falling and knocking herself out. She was "floating" a foot below the surface and darin shapiro had to jump in for her. Of course this was in 1997-ish, but still...you know, still...
I'd rather not take a chance with any of that, but that's just me.

Yeah, he was riding and he fell and got knocked out, and since he was in a body of water with a current he was pulled under or something terrible like that. A friend of mine was his roommate and he said Cory was the most down to earth person on the earth, RIP Cory, in short WEAR YOUR VEST

Putting on a vest just comes naturally to me, and like wakeriderof87 said you hardly notice them so why take the risk? A vest may not stop you from drowning in a foot of water, but it will stop the wind from being knocked out of you.

| I was making the point that you can drown in very shallow water. I would guess if you landed face down a vest could not roll you over but it will keep you on the surface so you can be found easily! But make your own decision its your life you won't be riding behind my boat without one.
