| I want to get my ear pierce but my season starts full blown in about a month and don't want it to get infected. How long do you have to keep them in for? |

yeah you should be fine. I was good after like two weeks. Just make sure you use rubbing alcohol to clean it out. _________________ Some people make birdhouses, some people knit sweaters. I star in high-quality pornographic films. To each his own... |

| when i peirced both of mine they took a while to heal. but i went with a 14 guage my first peirce. so thats prolly why. just go with the smallest size or whatever they normally do and youll be fine. i went from a 14 guage to a 10(big mistake i was rushing) and they were healing but still never got infected when they got wet with poopy lake water. just wash them twice a day and your good. |

YOU can ride the next day, just make sure you clean them. iTs not like your sitting underwater, if you wash your ears with soap and bactine and your earings you should be fine...... Also skipping gages isn't crap, I went from 14-10 and then 10-6.... 10-6 hurts a little, but dont skip anymore after 6 _________________

I had double zeros about 4 years ago. People still know my ears are pierced. It does kind of make me uncomfortable in the professional world...it's only natural for people to judge, I guess. |

| Jama, don't clean them with rubbing alcohol. It kills all cellular growth, bacterial and otherwise. The problem is, while it's killing the germs n whatnot, it kills the new tissue growing. |

mine was originally done when I was 12 in some chick store haha...it was free...
but they told me to clean it with alcohol. it bled for two months. I let that grow in before my 13th birthday, and last year I re-pierced it with a safety pin at about 14g. amazingly, it did not infect, and I just cleaned it with saline solution, healed fully in under a month. I've just given my other ear the same treatment, and we'll see how it turns out. |

I had 6's and took them out 8 months before my best friend's wedding since I was to be the maid of honor and didn't want my ears to look different from the other bridesmaids for photos and whatnot. Within 8 months, they shrunk up enough to fit regular earrings...a bit loose but not bad. So...I guess you might be safe sizing up to 6's but any further...might be too far to go back. Depends on how your body adjusts to it.
Now my boyfriend...he could fit Sharpies through his and well...they've never quite shrunken up to be "socially acceptable" in the professional world. Sad that people get hung up on something so little but you nailed it Trey...it's only natural for people to judge, I guess. |

I'm told the semi-official threshhold, point-of-no-return to normal looking ears is anywhere after 2 gauge, but I think it depends on the person. I had a friend who had 2's and then took them out and within 3 weeks they were back to normal.
And I was riding regularly just after getting my ears pierced with 14's, no problem. I just washed them with gentle soap every night (and whenever they got crusty) and they did fine. _________________
