brianl289, yeah there are three different types of marine optima batteries... if i understand what i read on the optima website correctly... one is for starting only( like what is in your jetski now), one is for marine accessories, and one is for both??? i dont know which to use? and i dont't know wether to use a 240 watt amp or a 400 watt amp...???

Hyperlite_06Byerly, ... think things through... do some research

well after looking at the website im deffinatly going to get the dual purpose one. but after looking at it more, the troll fury kit for 2 batteries looks pretty sick, it seems like it would last for as long as you needed.

i think i want to get the D31M battery because it says its the best deep cycle battery for applications like trolling motors and such. but this battery is pretty damn big. im wondering if the storage space can hold this weight. the battery along weighs 60 pounds.

Looks like i got a polairs PWC lined up to buy this weekend, so i'm going to be in full swing on the stereo project fairly soon to. I'm not all that familiary with a PWC motor but how does the battery keep a charge? Is it using an alternator or what? I'll find out once i get my machine and tear it apart but i was jsut curious,m beacuse having to charge a separate stereo battery every day is a pain in the ass.
Let me know!!
I'm going too make a custom tow pole with a cross bar going accross to mount the speaker cans!! I think that will be the easiest and cleanest looking setup!!
Cheers
Paul

well im going to order my stuff in like 3 days. what im doing is a dual bazooka 8" speaker setup, with a 60x4 amp. in teh back handle im drilling through it and im putting some big " i " hooks hanging down. then im going to weld a bar across for mounting the speakers. i think thts the easiest way. and ill be getting a deep cycle optima battery that will be mounted to a frame that will fit in the comaprtment. having anything run of the jetskis battery is jsut going to kill it but im going to try it befor ei buy the battery to see how it works.

just for yalls information a 240 watt amp is going to draw 20 amps and a 400 watt amp is going to draw 33.33 amps. take the batteries total capacity ( if it is measured in amperes) and divide it by the numbers i showed you to get an idea of how long your battery will power your kick ass stereo system! this shizzle is going to be tight!

Wrexz, You could probably hear those if you were driving but not while riding. I saw something similar earlier http://www.jetskinews.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=PN_zClassifieds&file=detail&cat=6&de=321

My buddy and I are also very interested in coming up with something with the least drilling/messing up the ski as possible.. I love the idea that Justin Scott and them had on the back of the wake ed..(from the pics ive seen.)

why not just replace your ski battery with an Odyssey battery made specific to the application. If you have an old seadoo, the battery will be a PC-625. If you have a GTX 4tec, the battery will be a pc-925. hope this helps
