for those making videos

i personally dont think its so bad reusing a song, ive re used songs from good videos ive seen or bad videos with good songs. but i try my best to keep it original and put my own style of editing to it.

ive only reused a few songs i think, and they were from other board videos. i dont like using a song from another wakeboard or wakeskate video because im pretty much copying the feel of it since its the same sport. i think that wakeboarding and wakeskating can be the most creative thing for filming and editing, so if i see a good song used in maybe a skateboard video and im not really feelin it, i will see how it works with wake footage i got and if im really feelin it ill keep it.

As long as it isn't "simple man" by lynard skynard from byerly's section in hype or was it 12 honkeys, i don't know, same section, two different songs...esnow? Anyhow, as long as it isn't that song, then i could care less about people reusing songs. Smash

There was a rule in snowboard videos, never recycle a song from a previous video part!! Sorry....but that's just the way I feel. I'm old school.

If another video got their sha-it done first, and people associate a solid "part" with a paticular song....it's off limits, pretty much like a married hot chick!!! You could have tapped that ass, but someone go to it first.

There are certain songs I will never touch because they are engrained in my mind from awesome video parts.

I think resuing songs NOT good. Not at all, when i hear songs from sfumato or any other video i can always picture that rider and that rider ONLY shreding the gnar to the beat of that song. For example such great hieghts, if anyone put that in there vid, all i would be able to think about was Thomas Horrel doing a HUGE toe side indy from a helicopter view... Reusing songs is BAD, what if every skate video used the same sound track.. how boring would that be? I love it when people put new songs ive never heard into there videos, it gives me more to listen to. Like that Peper song i think it was, from the Bahamas trip video with like chase conor and stuff.. Ashes i think its called, Love that song and probly woulda never heard it if not for that video on here. Now if they woulda used The faits Hospital it wouldnt have been cool cuz then i woulda thought of danny hampson riding haha. Point: BE ORIGINAL, BE UNIQUE, BE DIFFERNT, dont just play the same songs.

VinceWhiteman, i will now never watch that video. My take on the song thing is that just don't take music from classic sections, wakeskating or wakeboarding, you have to appreciate the history of the sport.

I think different songs should be used, just my opinion. It's hard to watch a sick section and then hear the same song in a different video.. I watch my videos way too much so I know what trick happens at that specific time in the song.. I know my friend used a song from Follow Me Around in our snowboard trip vid and I was like....Dude why did you use this song, we suck. haha. Ah I'm just rambling. Do what you want, bleh.

I never reuse songs, not matter how much I want to use them...and there's nothing better than looking for that perfect song and finding it, and maybe even finding a whole new artist that like and get more of their music. Be original.

Some songs are just awesome for editing to. As long as you don't edit it the same way as someone else who used the song, then i see nothing wrong with recycling..

Nobody is ever allowed to use "Such Great Heights" by the Postal Service again. That's a UPS commercial now. The same goes for "Full Clip" by Gangstarr and any song by Interpol.

MTV used to use such great heights as background music in there reality shows all the time. It would drive me nuts and i would have to go watch sfumato imediately after.
