Hey,

How good is "The Book - Wakeskating Instructional" Videos?

Is it worth the money?

I just started wakeskating at the end of last summer and want to make sure I get the basics down but then can progress to harder stuff.

Will this actually help? Or should I just go out and ride more? Very Happy

the book goes into really good detail. they break down each trick. they dont just tell you how to do a trick, they tell you why you do it that way and how to make it look good. think its worth the money.

I agree with wakemitch. While snap may be more "entertaining," the book goes into detail and really explains how each trick is done. It's also kind of cool because they tie skating into a few of the tricks as well.

I'm not too sure on the price, but check the boardstop on it. you can either buy all three issues in one set (which I'd recommend, becuase you'll be able to progress with it), or you could buy each series individually.

I think it's like 70 bucks for the set. It's thick juicy wakeskating learning curiviture. I like it.

I actually found it too detailed to the point where I would sometimes lose interest in what they were saying. Not saying it is a bad dvd, just hard for someone with my short attention span Rolling Eyes . On the flip side it is pretty cool how they would show a split screen of the trick so you could see it being done regular or goofy. Snap is definently not as detailed but it has a nice flow to it......chem them both out....they both have thier merrits.

I would agree with that, but I think that once you sit through the whole thing a few times, you'll just check out specific tricks to actually learn something before you go on the water, or you'll just check it out as a dream trick of sorts. Or that's how I viewed. And ultimately, the purpose of an instructional does not match the purpose of a freeriding video. And they kind of take care of the "freeriding" aspect for the bros that don't have issue number two, since they included aaron's ridicurous pro spotlight...

Anyway, I'd recommend both as well, just because they are different and both have their positives and negatives. (which like, TOTALLY balance each other out!!!) I love checking out the extra sections in snap. Thomas' is still a favorite, for sure...
