| You're a board connoseuir (sp?) What do you think about the 07 LF Impulses? Are they worth the price? Do you think they are durable? |

Truthfully, I thought they looked great. And after having the privilege of speaking to jimmy about them, it was nice to hear that he took a lot of pride in the quality of the upcoming season's decks.
As far as durability is concerned, it's hard for me personally to attest to that, but jimmy looked kyle walton's board over after he won that expo rail jam and there wasn't a mark on it. I think chris41 might be able to say a thing or two about the boards...you should PM him too because I don't think he's on here too much. But I think things will be very different with those boards, considering they have a PBT base for 07 and they're also made in canada, not china. _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |

I've heard good things about the samples. All of the local LF guys that have ridden them seem to be really stoked on them. Unfortunately, it'll be a bit of a wait for the rest of us to get our hands on the real deal, but I think good things are in store... _________________ facebook.com/TheLiquidPlayground

| Thanks for the info. On the LF website, they claim they are made in "Our new California facility", but maybe this does not specifically apply to the Impulses, IDK |

Yeah, I don't know what the deal is with that, like if that's just the sealant that's made in CA or what (or if things had since changed since the LF write up was made). Ever since I went to the expo, the "talk on the town" was that high end wood line was made in canada, and someone else re-affirmed that a couple of days ago. (also, I took a picture of one of the impulses where it says "made in canada.")
If you're really looking for a wood board, I don't think you could go wrong with a LF, a sattelyte or an Oak. They all looked super solid, and it comes down to what you're looking for in a shape (you had mentioned on some other thread that you liked the variable edge design). Anyway, good luck on finding a board. Ultimately, I don't think you'll be disappointed.
Scott a, what did you find out on the impulse sizing?
And that glow in the dark thing is a shmoo. It's a mark gonzales thing... _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |

| Yes, she has an extensive collection. There was a pic in one of the threads a while back with the sticks lined up! I think she may even have one of the green Casettes |

Aaron gave a comment on these boards a while ago. I know for a fact that he broke a LOT of them during the Innuendo trip, that year the durabilty of the decks was close to zero. He says that thos year he has yet to break one, at the time he said that. So we can assume they got some of their shizzle together and are making solid boards now... See I don't only hate on big co hahaha Remeber tho, it's still wood, it will at some point warp, delam, break... _________________

Nekkie, Do you remember that green old 4track that I bought off of Aaron? I still ride it. No delam, it just needed a paint job. In fact, it's in my avatar... _________________ 01/20/2009. Niko-chan! |

greg, are you talking about the shmoos? If so, then no, I don't (yet) but I do want one in the near future. I've bid on ebay, only to be outbid. But yeah, I definitely want at least one...
as for boards (trey) I did post my skateboards and snowboards, and almost every wakeskate is now in the "Museum." _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |

I don't think it really matters where they are made, more of who makes them. If it's industry people making them who actually care about the sport then they should be better. If it's people getting paid nothing and don't give a rats ass about skating to make the boards, it doesn't matter if it's made in the US, China etc.... _________________
