Somebody help me.
I have Norton Antivirus, Ad Aware, Window Washer, and about ten other programs that don't seem to do anything, any suggestions would be appreciated

Brett Leadley, reformat....sorry but thats probly your only hope.
also get avast antivirus, free from cnet. run it AFTER you reformat(do a boot scan, It will ask you to do this when you finish instalation)
I would not put much trust into norton products.

I don't think you need to reformat it right away.

Try deleteing whatever you don't use then do a defrag.

The boot your comp in safe mode and do all your virus/spyware scanning then.

If it still runs like a sloth...then yeah probably reformat.

It freezes a lot and the start menu keeps disappearing. It's only a year old, guess I'll try a defrag thanks..

Your registry may be corrupt. Back up your important files, reformat from BIOS, then reload the OS? BTW, look at your task menu (Ctrl ALt Del), how many processes are running behind the scenes?

BIOS is the sub-OS located on the motherboard that is used to configure the pc before loading any operating system (OS). When you boot the computer, when you see the first black screen flash, you have to push a certain config key (Alt F8 on a Dell) to enter the BIOS. Then just follow the simple menu instruction on the screen. It really is easier than it sounds, its just time consuming. I think it took about three evenings to get my Sh*t back right when my wife screwed up the registry trying to load some software Mad Do a google search to find out what config key you need to use for your computer.

oh dear...dude if I were you I would call someone and have the work done for you instead of you listening to 18 different people tell you 35 different things to try or do. This program sucks...dude you should defrag. It could all be entirely unnecessary.

updatable antivirus + updatable spyware remover + registry cleaner are all you should need.

Screw norton and Mcafee. Pccillin by Trend Micro is the best, I've had all three. Make sure you uninstall one antivirus softeware before loading another. Agreed, you don't want more than one antivirus on your box.
