My conversation with the guy working at this booth...

Guy at Booth: "Hey, how are you? Have you seen our product yet?"
Me: *stares at the guy uncomfortably*
Guy at Booth :"Well here's how it works (goes into 5 min. demonstration about how it works)"
Me: *Stares for a little longer until it gets unfomfortable* "Why?"
Guy at Booth: "Because you can do flips!!!" (Proceeds to point me towards the demonstraton video, in which a guy does a really sketchy backroll.)
Me: *Stares at the guy again* then, "Why?"

I continued to just stand there until i could see that the guy got my point, then i walked away.

ryry, Basically what you can do is apply a topsheet of foam which attaches to the velcro on the board. The idea is that you get a wakeskate and a wakeboard in one.

Let me explain a little better. The soles of the shoes pull off to expose velcro, and so does the foam grip on the wakeskate. Once both the shoes and the boad's velcro is exposed you (in theory at least, hah) have a wakeboard. sort of...

This could be the best thread ever! Ha maybe we should closed toe "bindings".....basically I think we all know nobody is going to buy that S@#$ and if they do??? They are wakeboarding.... no one is gonna like use them in a contest...you can't I see people getting beat up for using that stuff.....like micro scooters at the skatepark....Re Freaking Diculous!

mikeskatesonwater, by saying that what about wakesurfing? in the same sense i would think 'real' surfers might 'beat up' people that wakesurf. kind of contradicting yourself no?

don't get me wrong i don't see the point in this either.

the only positive aspect from this thing is people having softer falls since the shoe will come off the velcro rather easier. being in bindings can make you slap the water a heck of a lot harder than a wakeskate/velcro setup.

urinal mint, your wakesurfing example went completely over my head, but the easier it is for you to come off of the velcro the easier it is for only one foot to come off and you snap your ankle.

I think you should take another look. It's not just about wakeskating. It is one board that gives you the option of wakeboarding or wakestaking with a pair of shoes. Less gear, less fuss and great fun!
