Ok I may be wrong but any time you pop the board out of the water useing your front foot, it is a nollie. Am I right?

Well if I am right. Danny does them in the snap video when he is showing how to do a body V. They say to press down with your front foot to pop it for the V.

yeah sort of, but the idea there was to use your front foot to leap off of the board and make sure that it doesnt follow you up. A nollie actually WANTS the board to follow you.

I am going to have to agree that it is possible. I would think the key to it would be doing it off the wake going outside in or inside out. I would think that if you could get your nose up over the wake before you kicked down for the nollie, that it might prevent your nose from digging into the water. If you were doing it on a cut into the wake, granted you would be moving forward so the potential to dig the nose in is there, but at least the water isn't moving directly against the nose, it would be going perpendicular to you. Who knows, it's hard to say unless you actually try it I am sure. I bet that somebody will do it eventually.

yeah I think they are possible to a degree. I mean, of course you arent going to be able to get the height you can on an ollie because if you snap too hard you're going to cram the nose into the water. I think the Gate is the key.

the gate will just give you the leverage over the water needed basically but it could proably be done on any board

I'm his proof. Gore can pop a nollie on the transition of the funbox at OWC with his "4trac style decks". So yes, in a sense, it's possible.

heres the deal
they aren't possible on water. if you pop the board with your front foot off of the front of the board, yes, you will get some pop, and no, the board will not nosedive into the water. what does happen though, is that the board pops same as a regular ollie. so really, it looks ridiculous and your end product is not a nollie. try this at home

*yes, even with the gate*

Ok that I do not understand. In skateboarding a nollie is when you do an ollie with your front foot, right? So why is it that when you kick with your front foot on a wakeskate it is not a nollie this I just don't get.

A nollie isn't just an ollie with your front foot. It's actually done off of the nose of the deck. I think that small on-the-water nollies are possible but as others have mentioned, I don't think you'll ever get the same pop you do from a regular ollie. Wakeskating is a lot like skateboarding, but they still aren't the same thing and I don't know how possible nollies will be just because of the properties of water vs. concrete (and I'm talking about really nice nollies). And as far as the fakie big spins are concerned, it's cool that people are trying something different, but they aren't all that cool to me when they're an inch off of the water.

uhh electricsnow, there not an inch high off the water. you can pop it basically as high as you would anyother trick. thats atleast as high as your average pop shuv. You speak as though you know alot of stuff(wich i dont doubt but before you bash another trick, wich i add you probably cant do, maybe you should look at its difficulty rather than plane look. I dont wonna sound like a total ass here but that kinda pissed me off. k im done venting and im sure ill here something out of this so whatever.
