I've been wondering but haven't made a conclusion:

The more flexible a board is, the more pop will it have, or is it just the oposite? Question

I think it depends perhaps, to a certain extent. I know they had flex in mind when designing the omen, and it pops insanely, but some boards are super stiff and have crazy sick pop as well.

it just depends on what kind or board it is. bi-level flex = pop

Depends where the flex is coming from.

Flex is one of the main factors that goes into the design of every Omen deck. Flex can be very good and it can be very bad. I'm not going to go too deep into this but the way a board stores energy and releases it makes all the difference.

For many years people seem to have this misconception that a stiffer board is going to have more pop, with the exception of the bi-level concept. Those people couldn't be more wrong.

I really feel like we have only touched on the real possibilities of flex in wakeskate technology, I know I'm going to continue to push the envelope of flex and see how much pop we can get out of a board with the least amount energy needed.

I'm not an expert on this (I wish I knew more about actual board design), but I will say that some of fresh water's early wakeskates played with the properties of flex and snap...

yeah, sleu is so right. i have this wood deck that delammed the bottom sheet. i sanded it and recoated it. it is really flexy. put one foot in the middle, and the other on the tail, and the tail will lay flat on the floor.
now, this board is close to nine pounds, and pops like a mofo.
it's good this topic came up, because i always thought the board popped more than others.
it's a 3 stage btw.

Yeah... I like this kind of thread that will add knowledge about any kind of stuff.

I got my self an old 4track. It's still allwrigth, thougth a bit heavier I guess. Probably due to it's age, I found it a litle bit more flexible than usual. Anyway, I ride an Integrity, but the first time I got back from it to a wood deck, my ollies came a lot higher. It could also be due to its size (42`), but anyway, it made me think a lot about the flexibility thing.
A completly flexible deck wouldn't pop... that's fore sure, but once you're able to release the energy generated by flexing it while still on the water, it may actualy increase pop.

SlewCrew, unless you consider a major propriety of the omen, and a big secret, could you please explain us how a board stores energy and releases it, what part of the deck should be flexible, or what part must the energy be stored at. If not, I totaly understand you...

thanks
