It's such a good movie. and its hilarious. see it for sure.
if you dont know what it is, it's a satire about Big Tabacco and the main character is the spokesman for Big Tabacco.

Saw it in theatres too......

this is what I thought was interesting.......

Was I the only person who wanted to make a MINT JULEP after that movie?

I went out and bought some mint/sugar and top-shelf Kentukey Bourbon and made a few old Southern Delights.

WHAT IS THE POINT OF THIS?

It is my theory that the film-makers used the Mint Julep to prove that media makes you want to purchase items, whether they be alcohol, smokes, porno, fireworks, guns, etc.....

I like those types of things -- subtle tricks to prove a point. That is the true mark of an auteur, or at least, a conscious Director

ever heard of subliminal messaging? that's pretty much what it is, if you ever take a media class, it talks a lot about that.

n the movie "The Island" they show a lot of drinks and shlt, but they show aquafina water the most (product placement) and it probly cost aquafina like 4 or 5 million for how much you see the aquafina name, i can say when i saw that movie, i went and bought a bottle of aquafina, but it was fukcing gross, like not as good as regular water. but on the whole it worked, it made me the consumer go out and buy aquafina, i dont know why i did, but i did. i havent drank aquafina since.

i wonder how many people will go out and buy a bottle of aquafina after reading that paragraph Laughing Laughing Laughing

I learned all about subliminal messaging watching cartoons in the Reagan 80s. They taught me to hate Communists and drugs.

Thankfully, that crap don't work on me no more.

I think in Fight Club they do it too. When they show the clips of sexual "appendages" just to prove that we are mindless clones, or something of the sort. I love that movie.

hotdoggin had subliminal boobies. my friend watched that video and ended up with a black eye. So I think that subliminal hooey really works!

Yeah, I thought the saved by the bell comment was funny...I loved that show...and I guess it's a guilty pleasure...and I feel like I can admit that because for awhile, they were showing saved by the bell on adult swim, and everyone knows that adult swim rocks everyone's socks off...that is, if you like adult oriented cartoons, which, in my eyes, is a match made in heaven...
