Its not FWT or a think peice of foam.... from what I've heard its just the way the skate was molded....

my guess is byerly wanted the tail and nose of his board to be raised up higher like how skateboards are but didnt want to affect the amount of rocker the skate had so they just made the skate and then molded a higher tail and nose

my 2 cents on the shape

Greg T, It's Scott's brand under the financing of Hype from what I understand.

Rumor has it they took a skateboard and mocked the concave and oversized it to fit into the top of the deck.

Guess I'll know for sure when I see them next weekend. Sounds interesting though.

I'm looking forward to seeing the shapes and graphics. Maybe something completely different.

this board sounds fiznackling awseome this could be revolutionary,

i highly doubt he lands the trick in the upper right hand corner

thats sick how high he sucks his knees up, look at the 5th byerly in the sequence

so the first thing that came to mind when I saw this was that it kinda looks like they are aiming at a one piece composite bi level. By this I simply mean the kick tails and concave seem very drastic and the tip/tail are relatively thin and don't butt up to the concave. I've thought about this idea for some time now and the best way I could have previously explained my idea before this picture was a bi w/o the flex b/c it would be all one piece. i donno just a thought...

oh yeah, another thing that caught my eye, and I wish more companies would do... the thing he's holding looks like a stencil. I've been waiting for a company to ship a plastic stencil w/ their product for some time now... maybe it is, and maybe it isn't one.. but if it is, it's about time. ok i'm done...

(and before the flaming starts, in no way am I implying this is like a bi level, just similar in that both ideas stand out)
