Over here in Oklahoma there is a huge hay shortage for the cattle, so pricing has shot through the roof.

When I went to the feed store to get some bales for my cattle, it had jumped another $3-4 again!!!

You could build a wooden frame then use a couple layers of that see-thru plastic that you can buy in huge rolls at Home Depot etc.

By wooden frame I'm thinking something a long the lines of a backyard hockey rink style deal...although it would have to be pretty hefty to hold together...maybe two 2x10's stacked on top of each other lengthwise and pegged into the ground fence style.

If you've got land you can dig on, rent a backhoe and dig out the pools into the ground, line them with PVC pond liner or some other thicker plastic you can get from the hardware store (usually in the gardening section), and fill with water...don't forget to dig out drainage too so the water can circulate and not get nasty. Oh yeah, and call before you dig so you don't hit a power/sewer/water line.

That's when you say, "Dad, think of it as a property investment. When I'm done you can easily terrace the land and increase the property value."

Okay, so perhaps it would be more like, "THOMASSSSSSSSSSSSSS!"

pound in 4x4 posts about 5-7 feet apart in the shape you want the pool, attach those together with ~3 rows of 2x6's then line the inside with plywood making sure that the plywood is very flush with the ground (its better if you dig a little so the bottom of the plywood is under the ground level). line with whatever heavy duty plastic sheeting you want.

-perminent above ground pool
