I just got a new skate for my birthday, and I noticed that the trucks are real loose. My buddy also recently bought a new skate and wen the shop put the board together the trucks were also really loose. Do most people ride with there trucks loose or tight? I find that when they are tight tricks look more clean and when they are loose everything is sloppy like if you land a trick off to the side a bit and your board leans so far and you almost fall. So, are they supposed to be tight, loose, or is it mostly personal preferance?[/i] |

ridehatzic, It's alll preference. However the smoothness of tricks is in no way related to how loose/tight the trucks are. It's all in the skater. The smoothest style i have ever seen is all from Antwuan Dixon. He skates loose trucks, and well... Damn.
Anyways i prefer it loose and everyone else i know likes them so tight you can't even turn the damn thing.. Hate to say it but i pwn them.
My advice is, give loose trucks a chance. A GOOD chance. See if you can get used to it. You will like it. _________________ - Evan Molina |

loose for street and tech tricks. tighter for vert stuff. i dont like dropping in with loose trucks although i like loose when im just riding around. my opinion. your not going to ruin you riding either way and the best way to progress on a skateboard is to be on one all day every day. so you should have time to try both ways and find YOUR medium. good luck |

trucks break in alot better when they are loose. so atleast start with them loose and then tighten them up to your liking after a few rides. |
