| Suppose you core shot the Omen on a rusty nail while sliding on a dock. Do you just fill it with clear p-tex like a snowboard? I am guessing the inner core would waterlog if you did not patch it. Correct? I probably missed it , but how much do these skates weigh? Also, what is the thickness of the dura-surf base on the Omen? |

I think I heard they weigh around 8 lbs.
Im not sure how thick the durasurf is but it dosnt look to thick
but durasurf is very strong!
did you see the video of the omen being shot with a 9mm pistol like 100 times and it didnt even really do anything to the bottom
That shows you how strong it is! |

The Bug, The Dura surf is .035 and the deck is about 8.2 with grip. We have been using the pool gaps and rails all week from the Slide show here in Portland and my deck got a few good hits from some of the screw heads and just took some nice little slices out of the bottom. But if you were to ever get one deep enough you would repair it with a p-tex candle just like you would a snowboard. It's super simple to repair. Nobody on the team or myself have gotten into the core with a screw head but it's possible. I personally try not to slide things with screw heads sticking out cause I worry more about me hitting the screw head!
There is potential for the deck to take on a slight amount of water if you broke one through and never repaired it. These decks are layed up using epoxy and not skate glue, so more than likely you would just take on some water in the first ply. You would have to be a idiot not to just repair it though. _________________ arson-wake.com |
