ok i had to name it that.

We thought we'd show you guys(and gals) the new Production model of the devotid Union 41 "deluxe" . We ve had a mess of emails and IMs about it a so here it is.

stats:
length 41”
waist width 15”
nose/tail width 11”
rocker 2.25” 5 stage
(2) .850 carbon skate fins w/ hardware

the top deck consists of 8 layers of Great Lakes American Grown maple, hand laid and pressed with our H2o adhesive. Sandwiched in the wood’s core is 12 oz’s of bi-axel fiberglass to allow some flexing, and save precious weight. Doing this keeps the wood “feel” in the top deck and makes it last much longer. We shortened it up and increased the pre-kick area so your front foot is more comfortable in more positions.

The bottom deck is the same wood in a little different lay up. we use 9 layers with the same glue and no fiberglass. This thickens and stiffens it and isolates the top deck to be the one that flexes. We used a 5 stage rocker line that is similar to the Movement line-up with a couple of tweaks. We also have left the nose and tail edges a little more squared off to increase pop and release from the water. The center of the board is nice and rounded to help hanging it up on the lip. the tip and tail fins are predrilled but the two other "noseslide" style fin holes in the nose area are marked for you to drill yourself if you want.

All devotids decks are Sealed, sanded, sealed, sanded again, cleared one time, graphiced, sanded a third time and then cleared again to seal in the graphics and pop. This water stopping process has made our quality shine and gloss graphic finish come alive.

The heart of the Union is in it’s trucks. They are made from high durameter (stiff) urethane rubber (the same as skateboard truck gummies), this allows the desired flex but doesn’t overstress the board or the holes. This way the wood doesn’t take all the beating and pressure points of a solid hardware set-up. We chose an oversized ¼-20 hardware on the Union 41, this allowed us through design to eliminate 8 of the original 16 pieces of hardware, saving again even more precious weight. You can get two different stiffnesses and thicknesses of trucks to adjust your board to your own weight or flex preference.

MSRP $299

you can get it with die cut grip or a full sheet. assembled or unassembled. We are going to sell them in pieces too so you can get JUST what you need.

Also, check out our site for "bi" style conversion kits for al those who have a board waiting for parts. we can get yours back out on the water for ya.

Unions will be for selling through links on the website or you can contact us during regular business hours through the info on devotid.com for a phone order.

Thanks again for your support!
kevin

sorry, we forgot that huh?
the weight is about 13 lbs. i think the "other" companies decks were about 14-15ish or so. it feels really light compared to the other ones we tested. That was our main goal of revamping the prototypes was the weight. of all the people that have ridden it, all of them loved it. when they went back to a regular flat or concave they said they felt way light.

I will be Preordering and making some units with a kevlar/carbon fibre stringer instead of the fiberglass one but thats down the road. let me know if maybe anybody would be interested.

I will have some production units with me at wakestock if anybody wants to buy them or maybe demo? Were trying to find somewere to ride while were in toronto. anybody got 3-4 extra spots to ride PM me. were bringing the grinch winch too.

the concept of selling it by pieces is great so you won't have to buy a new one when one part is broken. just like skateboards. goodluck!
