Ok so me and my bro got a little 50cc mini bike ... this thing is nasty and flys ... about up to like 35 ... im thinkin if we take of the back wheel ... replace it with a spool and line ... then it would be a perfect winch ... would the gearing and everything work out u think ... i konw it wouldnt do deep water but for dock starts or somthing .... advice / reactions??

| I once saw a little video on the internet titled " red neck water skiing" and it was a very similar idea; these guys had a rear wheel drive car with the back end jacked up and one of the wheels was relaced with a rim only used as the spool. There was some video of a guy water skiing across a pond powered by the stationery car with the rope winding up around the rim.....niiiiice

Yea I like the new website ... ok so I figure someone mite know how I should figure out the spool diameter and the gearing on that .. ne links??

Ride_2_Relax, I actually want to try that on my 110!!! I have a 134cc kit I need to slap in, and I'm pretty sure it will work fine. I just need to figure a way to salvage my old hub and rim to try it out. I'll post some pics if it ever happens
but I think its a good idea too!!
About the gearing I dont think you need to bother much. U have different gears and you can always change the sprocket to get more torque over top speed

Heres some pics .. basically if I take off the fiaarings and disconnect the front forks and then remove the rubber of the back rim and add two table saw blades to make a makeshift spool Id have my winch haha .... it possible could be that easy ... It already has a brake and hand throttle haha .... lemme konw your comments ...
