DRAGON88, some Revolts have been run over a few times by cars, had their edges slamed on concrete, landed in 3 inch of water from a gap on concrete aswell, the other wooden board that was there split in two.. And after all that abuse the boards are still fine. I think Sleu has some vid of the board being run over several times by an SUV...
just a couple facts. But it dint happen in a day either, some team riders managed to break some prototypes.. but that's what they are for
and btw this topic is pointless... I dont see any comments from anyone who rode both of those decks, ask the same question in a couple of months you will get more realistic awnsers _________________

Alright, that's fantastic that they can be run over by SUV's but again, no offense Nikkie, but your oppinion on your sponsors deck really holds little value to me, because your job as a sponsored rider is to push the company. It's nothing personal, it's how I feel about every team rider when it comes to their oppinion on wakeskates.
I have no doubt that Chris and Omen are sure to be awesome and durable. All I'm saying is the only people who have had the decks long enough to really run them through their paces are team riders. Chris has his heart in the right place and has been doing tons to make sure that the production Omens will be perfect. But even at that like you said I would reserve judgement until an un-biased source gets a chance to really review one. _________________ The aforementioned postings and musings are the opinions of myself in their entirety and are not the opinions of wakeskating.com |

DRAGON88, omen wakeskates are made with the same product (durasurf) that snowboards are made out of. trust me they will last. ive snowboarded on many made out of this product, K2,Focus,Ride Unity and many more. THey have a good reputation. to bad durasurf is a monopoly in itself. just look at their quote "The reputation of the industry is riding on us."
if you dont believe it will last
check these sources

C.Brenton, actually they have durasurf rails and bottom sheet, but they also have a wood core and PBT top sheet. The wood core is really what makes the Omen unique, not the durasurf. My friend's '04 Integrity team model has a Durasurf bottom.
But again, all I'm saying is that people should get out and ride them before talking them up. I am well aware of Durasurf and the snowboarding industry, that wasn't really my point. My point was to try to get people to think for themselves instead of just taking the companys word for it. I have no doubt that Omens will prove themselves, but I also feel that they are best reviewed and criticized by the consumers.
That's just my 2 cents, take it or leave it. _________________ The aforementioned postings and musings are the opinions of myself in their entirety and are not the opinions of wakeskating.com |
