ok so i have already built the flat bar part of the rail but i have no idea what to use to mount it i was thinkin abt 4x4 posts with 2x4s on the side for support but i didnt no if that would hold what have yall used??

it depends, is it gonna float or is it in the ground?

float = anchors

in the ground = railroad ties/ landscaping timbers (they are alot cheaper than 4x4s and almost as strong)

Drill the posts in using a jetski's water pressure. DONT USE A SLEDGEHAMMER. Use gutter hosing, its black and flexible and is like 6" diameter, and have one person hold it on the jetski nozzel, have one person hold the jetski still and use the throttle, and one person to hold the hose and drill it into the ground.

it sounds difficult but once you get the system down, it only takes like 1 minute to drill the hole for the post. sledgehammers just tear up the top of the post and wear you out. IF you can even get it in with a sledgehammer.

CarterOG308, in the ground you could also use trees...my friend cut down a two trees and made one...i used 3x4's and its working great so far, still as solid as the first day and its been cookin in the florida sun every day Very Happy

myers, So the force from the skis water pressure will drill a hole in the ground and then you slide the pole in?

myers, what a killer way to do it. Who needs a water pump when you got the PWC, why haven't I thought of that ?
