el, all music is driven by emotions, therefore, as you stated, everything is emo. BUT for some reason, someone decided to make some lame sub genre, and proclaim it "emo"...whatever that’s all fine and good, "emo" is a genre of music, all I am saying is that AFI has never been apart of that genre, even tho yes, their music, just as the music from every other band, is emotionally driven.

That is the same conclusion I came to. So when people go about incorrectly labeling any music that fits their broad notion of "emo", I take the next illogical step and label everything else emo. Unless you are speaking numbers out in a monotone pitch to a single drumbeat, there is some sort of emotional content in the music.

Unfortunately, prettymuch all of my posts are done with tongue in cheek, and it's hard to sense the sarcasm at times.

Idiots.....I don't even know where to start.....ok AfI is def my fav band and they started out a cali punk band and ended up F%cking amazing....their lyrics are deep and catchy, not emo cause for the love of god there is no such thing...and if there were it would not be AfI...its its own thing.....Check out the album black sails in the sunset...or the art of drowning or more punky answer that and stay fashionable....long story short, they rule, they havent sold out, cough cough like avenged sevenfold or any of that other shizzle....plus davy havok could kick your ass that dude his ripped...
