I was just watchin the spelling bee on ESPN, and one of the words was sfumato. Pretty cool.

why were you watching the spelling bee? 
Just kidding...it's funny how you get sucked in. What's crazy is that a) one of the espn channels had a SPELLING BEE MARATHON on TV within the past few days and b) it's on network television this year.

hahaha thats pretty cool.
I went to the regonal speeling bee back in 6th grade. Its amazing how much just reading books improves your vocabulary. I read alot of Stephen King books last year and when i stopped reading this year(to busy) i noticed my vocab went down quite a bit.
Anywho some of the shizzle they throw at the kids its like  I woyldve had complete ownage if i couldve spelled it out, but some girl beat me

| I won the spelling bee my junior year of high school. . Sfumato is a term coined by Davinci for a painting technique. I know the mona lisa is painted in this technique though. I forget what the technique is though. |

Sfumato is a term used by Leonardo da Vinci to refer to a painting technique which overlays translucent layers of color to create perceptions of depth, volume and form. In particular, it refers to the blending of colors or tones, so subtly that there is no perceptible transition.

electricsnow, not only was the spelling marathon on ESPN it was in High Def! so that way you could actually see the tears from the kids when they lost!
