Winch Contest

Hey all We was thinking about holding some type of Winch contest.
What do you all think?

We are doing that in March I think with the pros. I think instead of a contest we should just let people demo it. (whens the next contest or event held?) You might be able to test these out in Orlando but for sure in Miami.

What I think would make a good contest is: Have teams, give each team a winch and a video cam. Send them out to ride what ever they can find. ponds fountins the works. then judge the tapes unedited. just a thought. Isn't that what the winch is for anyway?. I would buy that tape true free riding at its best.

thewinch, do you mean the pros like grubb, thomas, reed and them dudes or like anyone who rode parts of the tour last season?

Oooohh hawn, that's a really good idea! I seriously like the sound of that...hey, make a stipulation that all landings must be filmed!

ya i like hawns idea too but electricsnow, do you mean every atempt even the falls? or just everything thats landed. becuase it would be a real real long tape if you taped everything that went on.

Hawn that sound sweet. Kinda like a best winch video contest.

We also want to do a contest at a park somewhere that boats arent allowed.

yeah that would be really sweet like do it at some crazy vegas fountain where like jets shoot up and put rails through it.

You could have two contests. One with the "Winch Team" idea and then a "best trick" winch comp. at a park where you can have any motor boats, but it needs to have a fountain, or a gap, or put in a rail or kicker....just something. I'm down to ride in this contest/comp.

Greg, I meant tape the stuff that was landed. You know, none of this gee-narly gap stuff and then cutting the film before the landing because the guy didn't make it. You know, it's an old film trick...

Yeah thats a good idea,very good idea. It will be like a Winch survivor series crappiest rider gets booted off. We can all be located in different cities and allow for 1 week of filming but your only allowed 1 60 minute D/V tape to limit all the crap. Then let Attention Deficit edit it thats right up there ally.

NO tour dates just yet. Having Insurance Problems.. Also waiting on the WWA they are half steppin on joining forces. We may just go solo. I have waited for the last 4 months. We have got 2 get the shizzle going................. Evil or Very Mad

the vid things a god idea, but I thought the winch was designed to give people fun by riding it, not as another way for companies to buy popularity at crappy contests. If you really think that wakeskate comps are a good idea, then just carry on using watercraft, they already have the nice commercial background. Don't let the winch become corporate joke like the PWT.
