ride5, Lets clear a few things up... First off he was never my manufacturer he was someone that was building a prototype mold and some other tooling for me. At that time I needed a vacuum mold to prototype with so I paid him to do so. He did however press some decks to make sure the tooling all worked properly... He ended up pressing more because decks failed because of the prototype tooling not working properly at first.

EVERY Omen deck is manufactured in house here in Oregon using a numatic <sp> press and all aluminum tooling, NOT a inexpensive vacuum setup.

So I'll tell you what, I know Jeff is going to be at Blacktop Oasis. Why don't you come on down as well, I will be in so-cal all week long. I'll have in my bag a deck thats been cut down the center and directly across the middle so you can see EXACTLY what's inside and how it was built. You and whoever else you would like can tear it apart do whatever you want to it. Then tell me to my face and everyone else how I ripped off Integrity. The only thing similar is that we both use the same sandwich type of construction... THATS IT!

Sound like a deal? I'm not trying be a chickity china the chinese chicken about it, but lets settle this once and for all. I have a lot of pride in the deck I designed and build everyday and I'm willing to prove it.

Ride I respect you and your history on this site, but come on bad mouthing is not the way to go.
I have always supported Erich from before Mutiny was around and I will continue to do so. But I also know what has gone on, on both side and I happy to rep for Chris and Omen the two boards are top of line construction and different in so many ways as they are alike.
Leading the industry in new directions has always been one of Erich's calling cards
as Chris has stated before his designs and knowledge stem from his years in the snowboard industry.

Just for all the kids out there ride what you like if you like both rock it if you don't state in a constructive way what you don't and both Erich and Chris will take your words into consideration.

Rockin OMEN in 2006 and beyond

Jama what does having a skateboard line have anything to do with pushing wakeskating, Kampus has a skateboard with snoop dogg on it and a snowboard line.

ride5, I actually have one I put on the ban saw to check the glue lines inside. I don't like being called a liar and I really don't like being called a thief.

Especially when every ounce of Omen came from my blood, sweat and tears.

I find it pretty lame that you want to try to keep this going based on the fact that he saw pictures of a Integ. that Erich posted himself on the net as well as pictures of just about every other wakeskate on the market. If you remember correctly he also said that the prototype decks and the mold were completed before he ever even got to see the pictures...

So if you want to say I ripped off Integrity based on seeing some pictures that you posted, then we're are all guilty of ripping each other off right?

Like I said I just want to put a end to this...

See you at the contest.

Jama, I love to skateboard and I have the tooling at the shop to make them... So since I'm building a few skateboards "mainly for myself" and selling a few of them on the website I don't care about wakeskating anymore?

Give me a break... Rolling Eyes

Everyone quit trying to start shizzle. If you think Omen is ripping off Integ... you are completely wrong, but none the less, keep it to yourself. It's obvious to me that Chris is a great guy and that he worked hard to get Omen started and to make boards and i think his ideas are incredible, and I have never even talked to the guy.

So what if Omen is coming out with skateboards? Oh wait i forgot, that makes it just like Hype and LF because they make wakeboards Rolling Eyes . I always thought it would be sick if a skateboard company made wakeskates, or vice-versa. I think it's time we respect the connection between wakeskating and skateboarding. Does it feel good to call someone a theif, who clearly has some great original ideas and is trying to push the sport further?

If you aren't behind that, honestly, shut the fvck up.

Back to the topic.

Personally, i am completely torn between getting an Omen or an Integ. I have heard great things about integ and by the looks of things, Omens are going to be incredible.

SleuCrew, Slapdown, Honestly, you guys are right and I'm sorry. Thinking twice on the whole topic, it is pretty rad for a wakeskate company to make skateboards. I shouldn't be looking at that shizzle anyways, since Omen is a company similar to Integrity not in board shapes, but in their mission. In conclusion, I'm a jerk and I'm sorry.

Not to bring up an old fued. But I can sympathize with Chris from Omen on this one. The press, molds, and materials are so riduclously similar between wakeskating and skateboarding, why not. Classik has thought about comming out wiht a few skateboard models just for close friends and local riders. Never hurts to get your name out when your still a small company.

Not to mention the fact that skateboarding can def help with your wakeskating and many wakeskaters have a skate background.
Plus you need somethin to do when you cant wakeskate.

Chris... im with you all the way on this one brother. Keep up the good work, decks look serious my friend.

Slue...

Just for the record...
I personally am not saying anyone ripped anyone off...

There are striking similarities though... but that's what happens when
we reach a time when the sport evolves to a point when these things
are figured out and specs are only being fine tuned... Look at skate
board shapes... and snowboards... today

But, when you claim first ever this and that... you should do some
home work and know a UHMW side wall is nothing new... (or wood
core) for that matter...
Mutiny skates had it and Liberation back in 2001-2002 even earlier, but
who's counting... who really cares ? to each his own... I have my
reasons why we don't use uhmw anymore... flame treating the material
is a beach, and it has it's fair share of problems in manufacturing and
cost. Our sidewall is trouble free in mfg'ing and it is super durable,
shape-able and cost effective...

Good for you and your company... Seriously congrats...
this sport need more companies building high-end parts and using
quality materials... I know and you know... that our costs to build
are triple or even quadruple what a mass produced wakeskate cost.
That's why when people buy from us they are getting their moneys
worth and not buying some fiber glass shell around crappy foam...
or a piece of wood that breaks and warps with in days or months...

Why ???
because the rider/buyers/kids/sport in general benefit from the
ante` being raised... This is progress for everyone and the sport.

That is one of the reasons why I posted pictures of our cores and
and materials we use on our site so people know what they are
purchasing and why it is light years ahead of the major corporate
brands.

this isn't rocket science... nothing is top secrete...
it's about progress and fun... and lets not lose sight of this as
everyone benefits...

one day the big boys will have to build like us...
and most everyone will forget why or who set the paradigm...

wouldn't it be better if wakeskating be more connected to skateboarding rather than wakeboarding...
