VinceWhiteman, to your first post on this thread
My family and I love Canada with a passion and went there for about 8 summers straight in the BC area, multiple times we just about moved into the Northern BC area sorta at the Top of Victoria Island or a bit further up towards the border near Hyder Alaska and the Salmon Glacier if that makes any since. I personally wanted to be within 50 miles of Vancouver because its such a wonderful place to be and the town and people are awesome. Some part of my life I would love to move up there and live my dream
and btw, im from Texas so thats gonna be a huge change in the winters.... _________________ Helium - Devotid Wakeskates - Anarchy Eyewear |

I think you're referring to Vancouver Island, where I reside. It's a really beautiful place to live. We have Canada's best surf, a mountain resort, reasonably spaced lakes, and some stunning, remote spots to camp if you're into that. All in all, it's a beautiful place to live if you don't mind living a good perentage of the year being rained on.
I think it's interesting to see how many of you Southern Folk want to move up to Canada (which I can understand politically and enviromentally) when most involved in this sport tend toward a sounthern residence to pursue the sport.

Oh god the sweet sweet canadian ganj. So sweet and potent...
Our beer is some of the best in the world, rival to only some European countries.
Ontario has about a bajillion lakes and rivers, with perfect riding from late May to the end of September. The season is short, but riding here is better than any gator infested Floridian lake (more like pond!) during the summer.
Best mountains in the world for snowboarding and skiing, and a government with some common sense.
Oh canada... _________________ www.sattelyte.com

Canada's pro motocross racers suck! jk... Jean Sebastian Roy came down to my house to train during the winter a couple years ago. He was the first Canadian I ever met. He was a really cool guy and to mention super fast on a bike. _________________ You know what you are when you look at your self in the mirror |

mikeskatesonwater, that's a pretty rough statement. I was just on a 5 day kayaking trip to Clayquot Sound with is around the Tofino area of Vancouver Island. It's referred to as the California or Hawaii of British Columbia. It was amazing there. British Columbia is the most beautiful place. Vancouver was voted 3rd best place in the world to live. Some pics that I took on my trip...
And this sweet jungleish area....

Slapdown, thats definitly a puddle, look at the trees in the back, but it could be photoshopped, it really looks like a lake tho. |
