nottoldyet, leverage and hydrodynamic concepts have nothing to do with kinetic energy, FYI.
Most products will be sold internationally? Uh oh. I hope this isn't true!

electricsnow, tell everybody why Thomas stoped selling from his site...and why integrity doesn't get love from retailers(It's not because we sell on our site)... I bet you would rather not...

Ride5, did I even mention integrity anywhere in that post? Did I mention anywhere that integrity doesn't (ahem) "get love" from retailers? I did mention that it's not common for a brand to sell direct...that I remember typing.
I love internet fights, really I do.

ride5, By engaging yourself in an opposing view with esnow here, you have been overridden by incredibly uncommon knowledge... (You aint gon' win fool)
Furthermore, it is in most religious books and has even been proven scientifically.
Esnow knows everything.

ride5, you SHOULD have bet yourself! That would have been a sweet ass bet on a tuesday night...then you could have bought a new trucker hat or something with the money that you just swindled yourself out of.
Che blanc, that caption is crazy (and untrue). I saw the real picture in a news magazine and it said "will somebody answer this?"
Slapdown, I wouldn't go that far with your comments...

| s34n, although what you copied from the website about hydrodynamics and leverage is correct, what nottoldyet posted about kinetic energy is also correct. As a wakeskate/sciene undergrad who has taken far to many physics classes, I could explain what happens with a bi-lev and why it works... but basically, as you push on the tail of the upper deck, it gets forced down at certain velocity, therefore the tail has a certain amount of kinetic energy. Then, the tail of the upper deck would reach a point where it is no longer being compressed any more, at which point all the kinetic energy is stored as potential energy. The tail begin to snap in the other direction (decompressing), converting the sored potential energy into kinetic energy producing/helping produce a super-sweet-mega-awesomely-huge pop of an ollie. For every action there is an equal reaction in the opposite direction. I love science. And I love wakeskating. Cool.

Vicuna, you got the wrong guy chief! I didn't copy and past anything, nor explain anything about kinetic energy or hydrodynamics.
However what you are explaining is simply a wakeskate ollie, not what makes the bilevel special which is the topic at hand. Thanks for the physics lesson though, I just don't seem to get enough of that being in mechanical engineering. Go newtons laws!
If you'd like to teach me some Biot-Savart Law stuff I would be greatly appreciated, because I probably got a big zero on that one on my final.

i think the top deck of the bilevel is more of a leverage to help push the bottom deck with more downforce resulting to more pop on an ollie. so i guess putting a pipe between the upper deck and bottom deck on the nose and tail won't make a difference on any kinetic energy. i'm not a physics or mechanical engineer person but that's just what i think.

yabu, you're right! It's all about the torsional force the top deck gives due to its flexibility.

is it all of the above in the quote I posted what other kind of energy would be created from the two boards poping together. I'm just a pool builder so this is just going of my memory of phisics classes from 9 yrs back when I was in college for just 3 semesters. If it was just the leverage why not just build a thick foam core board like a surfboard and give it a super kick tail. You would ride hi in the water to get the extra leverage of the kick tail. Like I said I not 100% on it but that is what I got out of it.

hahahaha. Che blanc, "where's the beef?"
I agree with nottoldyet...fat ugly kicktails on 131s are an archaic piece of technology (it's hard to tell, but that kictail is about *this* big (lifts hand, spreads pointer finger and thumb roughly three inches apart)).
