How long did it take you pros to feel comfortable on a skate? I've wakeboarded for a couple of years not very good but fell comfortable on it. I definately don't feel that way on a wakeskate. I assume it will come in time as i've only been on it 3 times.

My first day I felt comfortable, at least more comfortable than wakeboarding. That's why I quit wakeboarding and started wakeskating.

Most of my boardsports background is in surfing, so it felt way better than wakeboarding, but I wouldn't say it was a natural feeling at first. It'll take you a few months give or take a day. But keep at it no matter what.

f250power, I'll just say that patience is your best friend when it comes to wakeskating. Most people have to work really hard for their tricks...it's not quite the same as wakeboarding or snowboarding. Granted, there are still difficult tricks to learn in those respective areas, but I've been able to learn most tricks a bit faster with bindings. With skating and wakeskating, it's a different world...it's sweet though. The work pays off and it feels really good to make an idea (a trick in your mind) a reality. So anyway, keep riding and the comfort will come.

Wait, What?

im very very far from a pro, but i remember the first time i wakeskated, it felt very akward, especially cuz i was used to wakeboarding with fins, and riding a skate finless didnt really feel right. i probably stood up for about 8 seconds lol. but after you get comfortable riding you can progress pretty quicly

the first time i rode on a real wakeskate it was pretty easy because i had been riding a cheap wooden like 1/4 inch thick 15 dollar walmart skimboard...pretty ghetto but thats what i learned to shuv it on first so once i switched to my wakeskate it was actually easier...ive been riding for about 7 months and im startin to feel pretty comfy on my board, i cant land that great of tricks but i have fun tryin new stuff and so on so my advice is just keep riding!!! i still feel awkward on a wakeskate. i think it shows in my style. i think its mostly cause im very awkward looking as a human being.

wakeskating is definitely better than wakeboarding! I was a wakeboarder before until I injured my ankle TWICE doing a 360! So I switched to wakeskating and got addicted to it instantly! Why did I ever started off with wakeboarding?? Smash

Woud using fins make it more comfortable? Like less slipperly feeling? I always ride finless when I wakeboard btw. I also ride one of those shiznackle foam butter boards that I got for $25 with no shoes so maybe thats another reason? I appreciate the help guys.

Fins will definitely help you feel more steady, but once you get used to edging, it's much better without them.
