you may be able to do a donut but not a real drift, coming in hot and shift locking to break the wheels loose and use various throttle/braking/streering techniques to maintain a controled slide. it's not real drifting.

bjr, the KA-T is more of a drag racing set up. the SR is more of a track engine.
am i really gunna have to go film a drift session and show you guys what kind of "drifting" I'M talking about. bret knows Laughing

and about the taco, i've had a few drift cars before that, and i was doing it just as a joke. but it WAS a standard and a small truck.

i dont know what super street says, i just know that everyone i've talked cars with that has a 240 has always said they were going to do the sr20 swap, or they wished that they could do it but had to settle for the stock or turboed KA instead. haha, one of those guys was originally going to make the 240 an FD 240... don't ask me why, he was pretty retarded about it at the time, but he ended up selling his RX7 donor car and bought a rebuilt KAn

soy, im pretty confident i'm on the same page as i know what you are talking about for the most part, even though i dont drift. my buddies go to all those events in south texas and dallas for it and are showing me all these crazy videos and showing me how to go into corners and shift the weight of the car and all that. pretty technical stuff.

i bet you've seen the drift bible and all that stuff too right? i haven't really seen too many profesional drift videos but i have seen that... along with some formula d stuff on tv.

it's cool and all, but im not really too into it, dont have a car for it (i drive a blazer) nor the resources to work on the car.

bjr, you're thinking about the atricle of the budget turbo. they are saying it's cheaper and cheaper = better to them. BUT they are two tottaly differant engines. the KA24e and KA24de actually came in trucks before 240's. in japan, "240's" which are their (180sx,silvia) came with CA18det's and SR20det's both turbo engines, and those engines never made it in any car stock here in the states, japan didn't think there would be a big market for them so they lowerd the power and just stuck a KA engine in it which was previously used in small nissan pick up trucks. since alot of people didn't want to go threw the trouble of the SR swap because it's alot of work and expensive, they started to turbo the KA. and the KA-T was born. (nissan never made a factor KA-T) The KA-T is suited for dragging because its bulletproof, its powerband is suited towards dragging, and its easily avalibe for parts. the SR20 is suited towards non-straghit line driving because its powerband is lower-down where you need it. this is because the SR20s powerband combined with the gearing make it ill-suited to drag. but an INSANE track engine. SR > KA-T

hoffmac, "you have to spend lots of money to have a drift car" sad but true. i really wish that wasn't the case man. and i'm really jealous of your FF mini van skills.

senorbueno, would this "FD/240" be an SRX7? a 13B into a 240? or dropping an SR20 into an FD? tony angelo from team falken/drift alliance did it and i get wet every time i see it. also chris foresburg dropped an SR20 into his 350Z prior to his S15 which comes with an SR20. almost ever drifter uses the SR20 no matter what car.

senorbueno, yea, you know what i'm talking about man.

soy escuala, I know how to down shift into a lock slide, and I can heel toe just fine. . .what you don't understand is my truck has an awesome power to weight ratio, excellent re- gearing, with all new progressive rate springs and shocks(no blocks no spindles) and not only that, but the heaviest part of the truck is over the front axle so yeah I can do donuts, I can also do a full drifted J turn in my truck, is it as good as a car no, but I can do it, if you dont belive me fine, but dont talk trash to me like Im some nub ass ricer who thinks pulling my E-brake around a turn is the same as "drifting" ok, I have built and driven some serious cars so save the know it all 'tude for somebody who hasnt been there and done that

kento911, when did i ever talk shizzle on you? the only thing i have a problem with is people in trucks, vans, suv's, anything FF. ricers. automatics acting like they are drifters.

what i'm trying to say is... can you drift a truck? probly if you were good enough you can, but it's pointless... it's like riding a 142 wakeboard with traction pads barefooted with surf fins at toe jam. yea you can do it... but you won't get very far.

rice is tottaly differant. a riced out car is your typical civic with fake type R badges and a huge wing and crazy stickers, unpainted body kit ect.. it's those fast and furious fags that rice out their cars and give japanese cars bad names. they think their civics are fast because they have cold air intake and a huge muffler. my cars are nowhere near rice. i've got over $6k in the engine alone.

i called out rice on you because you said imports are ghey, BUT you have an EVO style hood.... which is a japanese car on a domestic and crazy headlights. and you say its all about euro cars. they're imports too. but i guess i'm just really strict on rice. it's just my opinion that if it's not stock looking and VERY clean and INSANLY fast. it's rice to have those body parts. no offence to you tho, but if you had a nice intercooler sticking out i'd retract my statement.
