just ordered this cd by NORMA JEAN, total kick ass. They are similar to the Chariot, except not nearly as hard core....they have some catchy song titles too. Very Happy anyone like them? besides xstufpwnyoll?

Uhh... where have you been the last 3 years? Have you ever heard Bless the Martyr Kiss the Child? That was when Josh Scogin from the Chariot was originally with them. It's like Dance Dance Revolution, except put to hardcore music.

Don't get me wrong, O God the Aftermath is rad too. There's a re-release of O God coming out at the end of the month with some new songs and a bunch of live footage.

deltarider500,
Who is chariot?

When you say hard core what do you mean? As in hard core punk?

Hardcore in terms of music... it depends on who you ask, but my general definition is punk mixed with metal, with overt amounts of energy. In most cases, melodic singing is replaced by fairly monotone screaming, growling, howling, etc... There is a variety of tempos, from slow and chuggy to fast and agile. Many bands in the hardcore scene incorporate breakdowns into songs, which are normally slowed down and simplified heavy parts meant to rile up audiences into moshing or hardcore dancing.

the singer switch is similar to underoath...........their newest album "they're only chasing safety" had spencer chamberlain as the vocals....their older albums like "the changing of times" had dallas taylor. I kind of like Taylor better, and their older albums better. but whatever
