Did anyone else notice the "Wakeskating isnt an offshoot of wakeboarding...It's its own thing" next thing to come up, a big ole wakeBOARDING magazine. just something funny I noticed, but looks like a PIMP movie.. _________________

Try this link instead, then click on the link for the video, either on the top or bottom of the page. You need to have Quicktime installed to watch it tho.

So it's ironic to have a wakeboarding magazine sponsorship, but not a hyperlite sponsorship??
I personally think wakeskating is different from wakeboarding. In fact, I feel as though it's the "anti-wakeboard" activity. Most people that are really into wakeskating wanted to escape the confinement of bindings and truly have limitless trick potential. (And not so much the, "oh, my feet don't hurt, I can do surface 360's and the falls are fun" type of deal.) Plus, wakeskating takes a whole lot more board control than wakeboarding and if you're doing the trick right (like popping out of a 270, rather than just sliding it around and off of the wake. ya dig?) it's going to look a lot better (at least from what I've found). One thing thomas said about doing lip tricks and shoveit variations (a long time ago) was that he wanted to take advantage of the fact that you aren't attached, so he'd rather do something that you can't do on a wakeboard, rather than the stuff that has been done already.
Anyway, I didn't get to see the whole trailer because for some reason (after I had been online for over an hour) it started to re-load and I didn't get to see the end. But I'm really excited to have another all-wakeskating video this winter and I would buy it sight unseen (despite the blacklist debacle).
I also want the linear/decline dvd. What? What? _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |
