Alright, i don't want this to sound like a plug but my name's Greg and i'm starting a footwear company called Phibius footwear. We are going to make shoes for wakeskating ONLY and we plan for them to be a little more affordable than the ones around now!! I just wanted your guys' input on what you think a wakeskate shoe should have and what it should do. This is your chance cause the prototype is being made now and will be in production within 2 months. So speak now or forever hold your peace. Thanks for the help guys!!

The removable in-sole if there will be one should be neoprene so the edges won't crumple up! To help avoid blisters Wink

Holes in the soles for drainage, mesh in the sides, reasonably light weight when wet and fabric that won't be stained by the water.

Thin sole, so you can feel the board. Soft ruber like old school vans/rowley soles with holes. A comfortable neoprene or something that will dry quick inner because we wear no socks. laces are annoying but josh's dad says never trust a man who wears velcro shoes. Find a way to keep the soles on longer.

Something with a good grip, so it has good grip on alot of different kinds of grip tape's or foams. Some shoes arn't good on both.

my regular skating shoes are pink and black... hahah

make sure where the sole is connected to like the top of the shoe like in the front where your toe guys its like all one layer kuz on my byerlys its like a regular shoe and the sole is ripping right off there because whenever i toeside edge water rubs against there on my back foot. i hope you understood that lol maybe i will get a picture to show to you. o yeah and the name phibius? how do you pronounce it?

Thanks for the response guys, i will try to take some of the suggestions and work them into the shoe. If they don't show up in this one you can be sure they will be on the second model(we plan on 2 or 3). As for the colors, right now we are only really looking at an all black, and an all white with either blue, red or grey accents. But if there is a real demand for others we will totally take that into consideration so keep the requests coming!! These shoes are being made for people like you and i want you all to have a say in these, rather than just dealing with what is made. As far as the question about the pronounciation(SP?) of Phibius....it is FIB-E-US. If i have missed anything just send me a message and i will make sure i get back to you on it. Oh before i forget, the Phibius site should be up soon, probably in the next week so check for that-- www.phibius.com. And for all of the northerners, i was riding at Rixen today and it was about 82 and flat.......sorry, i couldn't resist,
Have a good one,
Greg

Phibius, That last comment was COLD, very cold! I think you might lose some sales over that one Wink Laughing

Sounds like your company will do well. your the first company so far to focus on what many wakeskaters want...No just one or two wakeskaters
