I am pretty new to the forum, and I have noticed a lot of hate towards Hyperlite. I was just wondering why??

It's because Hyperlite is waaaay too cool for some people and those people say, "Hey, why bother to even have hair when he has hair like that".

it's like.... you wouldn't go on american idol and sing a song that you can't sing as good or better then the original singer, because you'll look like shizzle and will never make it sound as good as that person.

same with wakeskating. grubb is soooo good, that we don't even ride hyperlites anymore, because we'd look foolish

many people on here dislike hyperlite because everyone else seems to dislike hyperlite. many riders just dont agree with their buisseness techniques or where they seem to be pushing our sport.

i personally dont like hyperlite because of how the boards are made, ive ridden them and just dont like the feel of them, i finally found my board which is the Oak GEGE, fits me perfectly and just feels right, but its still fun to hate on something, as long as its not too serious if you know what i mean, im just more of an underground company kindof person, like boards, clothing, etc. thats just how i roll, support the rider owned companies, not corp's.

imo the byerly(05) rides damn good. good weight and edging. but it's still hype.

Hyperlite has pulled some shady stuff in the past.
Their marketing team should be given very large bonuses becauses the masses continue to buy without putting to much thought in to it(see a thread on wakeworld about which bindings to put on a byerly board)
I personally do not like the way most of their wakeskates ride, but I have not ridden the newer stuff.
I try to support companies(not just in wakeskating) that really love what they are doing and are trying to make a difference in the industry not just there bottom line. With that said the last wakeboard I bought was a hype premier which was in 02 and I could not find anything else that rode like that at the time, D-up had just gone under and their wasnt much else around that I could really stand behind, so I bought a hype, and I really like that shape. And the bottom line is to find what works best for you.
And if you dont have a problem riding a wakeskate that was built in a sweatshop in southeast asia then go for it. I personally dont understand it, especially when you can get a board made in the usa(or canada ) for a similer price.....

its not discrimination, it has nothting to do with race. Its a matter of jobs being taken away from americans so that the goods can be made for next to nothing only to turn around and sell it to americans for the same price as something that is made here(this is rare as ussually stuff cost alot more that is made here) But the point is that companies that manufacture in other countries are making a killing, mean while the people making the goods are making next to nothing......I know I know, vote with your dollar, but it's not easy to buy everything american made, nor is it cheap. so I try where I can
