| first of all it depends on what kind of camera you are using. the people in sfumato use cameras with fish eyes, and other special affect lenses that takes in the light differently and costs an hell of a lot more money. what kind of camera are you using? |

| also find out if you can adjust your cameras iris, that'll really help with the lighting, or if your camera has an AE shift that is the same as adjusting the iris. |

They use more expensive 3ccd video cameras or shoot film instead of video. And when you are editing a video you can adjust the colors and the saturation to improve the colors. _________________ "A real friend is one who walks in when the rest of the world walks out."

I am using a 3ccd camera but you also have to do a color correction to give it a warm feel.
I use Vegas 4 for editing, it has a color correction plugin, just play with the settings and you will see your film is also getting a real cool look. |

3ccd Cameras, Colour correction and Film look plugins in post production, and the use of film cameras - which always look better to my eyes - all come together to make the footage look good. _________________

You have to have Super8 footy developed somewhere and then sent back to you. _________________ .:Wake UP Films:.

You have to have Super8 footy developed bc its like a kodak camera. The locations you can get it developed are on the west coast. Therefore, unless you live out there(like in Cali) you have to send it to a company that has the equipment to develope it and then they will send you your footy back in a digital format. Thats from what I understand about it anyway. Wake UP Films is kinda low/no budget so we dont deal with film at this time, but I cant wait until we do bc the colors and quality is so much better. _________________ .:Wake UP Films:.

I don't think it is easy to develope super 8 footy urself. As far as getting digital to look similar to super 8 footy, you can play with the gamma, colors, contrast, and brightness. Also, overlaying a super 8 clip was said sumwhere on another forum. _________________ .:Wake UP Films:.
