Ipod Question

I found out im gettin an ipod nano for xmas, and we are goin to tis resort in pennsylvania 2 days later. So i def want to snowboard with my ipod, but i was wondering if you guys wrap it up in anything, like any type of pading so it doesnt get all messed up if you fall on it.

Also where is the best place to buy one, as in warranty issues and stuff like that.

I snowboard with mine and just put it in a pocket. best buy has a pretty good warranty.

integrity640, buy a protective sleeve for it, and just keep it on the inside of your jacket, maybe put it on the inside of an extra glove or something inside of the jacket... I wouldn't use it when trying to do huge inverts off a kicker, or anything like that.

I would just pick it up from the Apple online store. University students get a discount rate (like 15% off or something like that) with free shipping...

integrity640, in my jacket there is a pocket on the arm that is the perfect size for my nano. I feel it will be safest there. You might want to give that a try if you can.

On a side note, I didn't take any chances with the whole "scratch problem," when I got my nano I bought a protective film to cover protect it. I recommend you do the same, the product is called the Invisible Shield. You can barely notice it once you've put it on and the surface is nearly scratch proof. Application takes a few tries to get the cut-out lined up but it's relatively easy, and if you ever want to take it off, given you take you time, it comes off without evidence it was ever there.

How bout as far as when im wakeskatin, does that waterproof cover that you buy really work? If something where to happen would they buy you a new one even if it was because the product failed? Whats the site name again that sells those?

integrity640 Just be careful of the cold, like keep it close to your body like in an inner pocket in your jacket, rather than an outside one. I left mine in my car last night when I went to a party and it was about -20c or so outside. After the party, I got into my car and my iPod's battery was fully drained, even thought it was full charged when I left and it was locked so there was no way it could have turned on. I've also had it reset on me just like walking home during the winter because of the cold. Mind you this is for a 2 year old 3rd gen 15 gig...I'm not sure how nano's hold up in the cold...but it's just something for you to consider.

I dentedmine on a rail and it worked fine until the piece of shizzle battery quit working. I sent it back to apple to warranty the batter and they would not replace the battery unless I bought a new casing for it for $365. Plus I paid the $45 for extra insurance...

integrity640, i have an ipod...P.O.S., i personally hate them, but other people like them. If i were you i would get it at BESTBUY...the people at the apple store are retarted. My parents bought my sister a 60gb video and something was wrong...so we took it back and a man with wearing a kilt gave us a 30gb....then when we went back we had to wait in line for like an hour. Also BESTBUY has a longer warranty that is cheaper.....

omfg..........apple ipod 4g nanos are IMPOSSIBLE to find, ive called every place, looked up every place online and NO ONE has them. Im gona have to wait till after xmas break to get one. God damn, like no place whatsoever hasem Crazy Eyes

just get 2 2gigs then, even the apple.com store dosent have em, if your in a university or college you get a decent discount.

dude, for an extra 50 bucks, you get 26 more gigs of music....think about that. w/ a nano, you're paying $60/gig or something like that. and with a 30 its only $10/gig plus you get video. and it will probably be easier to find to get a 30gig at this time of year.

Ok so if i get the ipod 30g, would i be able to watch like fill in the blanks and other movies myslef or what. Also i dont have a dvd player on my comp so that another thing to take into consideration. So is the video really worth it.

everyone i know who has an iPod video has no videos on it. they keep telling me it's hard and that they can't get the thing to upload videos, etc. but if you could get the function to work that would be really sick, and if you can't watch dvd's otherwise i'd say it would probably be a good idea.
