so with all of these new wakeskate companies popping up with their wood concaves and flats it kinda makes me curious...
what sets each of you guys apart? is the concave different, perhaps fitted to your own preference? is the shape, tip, tail, waiste widths made to be a certain size so that it will help you in a certain way? now that people have more of a choice as to where to buy a wood skate from, why buy yours?
im curious. i ask because it now it seems like there are a half dozen new ("ROC" if you will) fledgling new companies with their own wood shapes.
maybe someone with access to a couple boards can ride them all and post a review?
im hoping to do this with some boards i have access to, and also use multiple anonymous riders. i know ive talked about doing this a few times, but im finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and i have some plans in the works.
i just think it would be cool to see if we can start to slowly build up a sort of board "database" where people could go to instead of having to wade through all the usual crap in order to find any info. _________________ facebook.com/TheLiquidPlayground

i was thinking of doing an article on the different bi-level wakeskates for fl wake magazine. but im not sure that the companys that i know of that are making them are ready for it as far as production and design goes. if you guys want a comparison type story on all the companys decks, i will start working on that insted. do you guys want just wood concaves, or should i make it the best that every company has to offer? you guys tell me what you want.

Thats a killer idea, its gotta be something with all companies decks(anything you can get your hands on), and the different deck types, Flat, Wood Concave, Composite Concave, Bi-Level. That would be a groovy article. _________________

If you do it its best to get like 4 dudes with diff skill levels then have them ride the board and write down there thoughts, and then at the end have them pick a best board. Does that make sense ??? ANd you have to get riders that aren't sponsored.

yeah the boards would have to be rated behind the boat, on rails, and lip tricks. maybe give ratings on each category by anonymous riders.

-Send your boards into me (PM me for my address)...
I'll be sure to give an honest opinion. Oh yeah, any board that get's sent to me becomes the property of SenorBueno enterprises, and cannot be returned... |

when this is done, all the boards should be painted the same so there is no bias, like the transworld snowboard good wood test

wakemitch, unlike snowboards, wakeskates are all different shapes (well, different-er than snowboards, at least). maybe this can be done with all the wood concaves, but if you throw an integrity or bi-level in there i think a keen eye could be like, "hey, thats an integrity or bi-level in there."
but yeah, if theres enough companies willing to sacrafice a board to the cause i think it'd be a worthwhile idea. as long as there arent any boards that are easily identifiable. _________________ facebook.com/TheLiquidPlayground

scott a, yeah your right. i was just thinking more about wood concaves because they look pretty much the same and i havent ridden enough to find a difference. like if i wanted to buy a wood concave i wouldnt know what one to buy because there are so many new compnanies out with them
