Razortail?

Does having a worn out nose/tail on a skateboard make that much of a difference in how well it pops and stuff. I'd imagine it does, I just don't feel like spending money to get a new one unless it's pretty much broken in half.

yea it affects the pop significantly. try and sand the tail back to a broader shape to improve the pop until you get a new one.

i hate sharp tails for when they hit u in the ankle and stuff but that doesnt affect the pop as much as the board j8ust being older and loosing its shape.

I get razor tail real fast. Since it is a gradual process, it's hard to notice if you lose any pop, because you keep getting used to what you have. I have never tried sanding my board for more of a broad shape, knowing myself i would ruin it trying to do that. My solution for razor tail, chipping, etc. is i will skate the nose when i first get a new deck, and if i'm in a line or something and did something like a pop shuv or something that would make me pop with the tail, i will just do a little nollie shuv to switch it back, then when the nose has razor tail, or is chipped, i'll just switch the side of the board that i skate.

Since I am a rich and indedendent 19 year old, I just buy new boards when I decide I don't like the way the graphic is starting to look, or the grip gets smudges on it, or I hear one of the guys on the team skates for Nike.

For anybody who pushes the idea of skating your board both ways, here is the thing: most skate decks aren't symetrical- there tends to be a slight taper on a lot of decks and the tail is slightly smaller than the nose. With my demanding feet, I can feel the slightest difference between both ways. Also, some people ride with their trucks at different tightnesses, usually looser up front and tighter in the back. It's a feel thing I guess, I personally ride with my trucks barely hanging off the threads. And I can still hesh faster than most of you curb hoppers.

yeah i think it makes a huge difference if you have rasortails.

you lose so much pop on the board.

Yeah, I tend to notice the difference in the nose and the tail, even though it's slight. It might just be a mental thing though.
