just got this photo from Epic's western Canadian rep...

probably the sickest boat Ive ever seen... (06 Spy Optic nautique too)

standard with volvo 8.1L... dual rudder vector steering system... 14 speaker sound system (8 of those transom), tower, swivel racks, 3 vent heater, 3500lbs ballast, perfect pass, this boat is loaded... 60k usd

Very sick boat. Evan has all the stats right, although I heard it was going to be exactly 50,000 USD, but that was before they changed to the 8.1 Volvo so I'm not sure. The first true Epic dealership is supposed to be here in Dallas, so hopefully I'll get out behind it soon.

JamesBoardr, No its a guy from So-Cal that is custom making them, they have nothing to do with the toyota boats.

And the Volvo 8.1 = good!

no that boat has no connection whatsoever with toyota. its a guy from san diego that built a boat basically in his garage and how he's producing it in a canadian plant. that boat is the dvs shoes boat, and i heard somewhere that aaron reed MIGHT get one, too. thats just a weird rumor that i heard thrown out so i dunno if there's any truth to it. there are a few guys in cali that are gonna be riding behind them and using them for promos, so it should be interesting to see how things pan out since they are a new company.

that's actually the first boat off the line and epic doesnt yet have a deal with any tower company, so the tower will likely change from what you see in that pic. the boat will run in the '60s, though (likey reflecting the upgraded standard 8.1L volvo inboard...).

oh, chris oh, you know you love the camoh. Laughing

So over the camo fad... but yeah these boats are going to be really sick or really overly glorified, but everyone who has had anything to say about them has been totally positive.

i know that reed watson rides behind one.. the boat was in pull with brian grubb and clint thompkins (sp?) in san diego.

tahoe integ, The black one that was in Pull is the Owners personal boat i believe... the first one made. But i could be wrong.

I think Scott A knows quite a bit more than i do about it.

And that tower is ugly as hell... The Malibu has one and i hate it, but it looks a little better with the bimini on it.

hey EvanPark, does that boat have sideswipe exhaust? Because i thought that that was patented by Centurion. That also looks like a nice surpression plate.......

deltarider500, whats in the epic is actually different than the sideswipe exhaust. they both have exit points in the side of the hull, but after that they are quite a bit different.

i THINK slewcrew is right...the black one was the first one made, and is the owners boat. the first boat out of the production plant in canadia is/was white, and was wrapped in that camo wrap and is the boat you see in the pics above.

yeah i havent looked in any mags in quite some time so if there was an epic/reed ad i missed it. all i know is that everyone that has ridden behind one has really liked the wake. well, everyone that has posted online about it has. there could be others who have not liked it. regardless a friend of mine, who has ridden behind basically every inboard known to man, really enjoyed it. he has a picky taste in wakes, too. he said the exhaust sounded damn nice.

There was an article in the new Alliance about Aaron getting his new boat soon and you probably not see him in Orlando for a long time. I think that boat looks like a sick wakeskate boat. A wakeboarder would want a bigger boat; but for skating I think a small boat is better, tighter and nothing could be any tighter than that wet whip.

yeah its from chris' board. i was bored today and didnt feel like writing any papers so i just dicked around with photoshop for a whole 2 minutes. then got bored of that and moved on. haha.
