consering your quote in Alliance:
Its good to be a little cocky/confident. expecially in your situation, cause your a really fing amazing rider (I judged you at that contest). I think that the quote in the mag is good for you, it is just saying the truth, "yea i can do tre flips". And a lot of people are paying a lot of attention to that quote. So brush that shi off, let your riding speak for itself (cause that is what you do best), and don't worry about what other people think. |

Yeah dude you'll have to get used to alot of shizzle that comes with being a pro rider, especially a up and comer.Nothing in this world is truly free....
Just go out there and have fun and throw down. One day all the shizzle talkers will act like they were always behind you. _________________ http://www.bellacoolahelisports.com/index.html

rob_corum, good point but the deal imo with nick is that he has been the most humble kid i know, i think he has every right to say yeah i can land 3flips like its my job but he definately has never been cocky to my knowledge. and i think kids are gna think someone that good has gotta be cocky especial when he wins. but i think nick doesnt want that image
and yeah for sure he should brush it off, and say u guys can say whatever the f*ck u guys want b/c no one agrees with u. |

What's up with locking threads?I thought we lived in a free society
It's censorship.
Just because someone says something you don't like or agree with is no reason to cut them off.Everybody has the right to there own opinions. You just don't have to agree.
I'm with snead. There was actually some passion and discussion going on in that thread, not the usual one line dribble that plagues so many....
But someone didn't like what was being said so it was locked.
After all that the big question is.....
Did Nick throw the 3 flip in the comp? _________________ http://www.bellacoolahelisports.com/index.html

| this is what i think is wrong with the situation. like someone else said (i think parky), its a comp so you know your gonna be nervous so you say whatevers in your head and arent thinking straight. and in my opinion nick has the right to say whatever he wants to his friends or the people on the dock. i dont think that gives someone the right to listen to a conversion and start quoting him. i dont think this sport needs anything like a paparazzi. i mean. why couldnt the quoter just say, "hey nick i was making note of the conversion, do you mind if i use this segment in the new mag coming out?". im wasnt there so dont know exactly what happened. but this isnt how the majority of the sport is. we all stick together. ride whenever we can and for the most part try to help each other out. i really dont care if it was a misquote or not, i just really think nick deserved to have the option to decide if he was going to quoted (please tell me he gave permission). if not why dont you just go to his house and take pictures and try to frame him and his family in the meanwhile. |

Most writer's I know in skiing and snowboarding try to work with the rider's.It helps if they want to work together with them in the future
But there are always those that try to be "Risque"
I guess he feel's it makes for more colourful writing talking about a rider's "cockiness".It's all about hype, rarely will you see a story written with any meat to it.
I haven't read this whole article so I can't really comment on the content.I'm just talking sport mags as a whole.Skiing,surfing,skateboarding,wakeskating... _________________ http://www.bellacoolahelisports.com/index.html

No, he didn't try one. but he didn't need one either. he landed the only kickflip of the day that was incredibly clean and pretty large, as well as ollie 3, BS big spin, FS big spin, i think fakie big spin as well, switch shoves, and tons of lip shizz. I can't remember there was so much shizz |

Tribal, what good was that thread doing for anyone? When I locked it, I honestly thought of nick. That stupid argument went around five times over and it solved NOTHING. With that said, that is where the lock came in place. It had nothing to do with me disagreeing with their oppinions. but, since you feel pretty confident in knowing the reasons behind my actions, I appreciate the assumptions.
Yeah, it's censorship, but sometimes some topics are better off dead. I've said REPEATEDLY that I'm about freespeech, but sometimes people will walk all over that and abuse it. _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |

| That guy is exactly what wakeboarding and wakeskating needs more of, people to cover the smaller events and get that coverage in the mags. i think that just about everyone agrees that the pro events aren't exactly fun to read about. Think about it like this, If it wasn't for that guy than how many people would know that Nick rips. At least he covered wakeskating. |

imo: if you can land three-flips, you should pretty much be able to say antthing you want. i wasn't there, but it seems like nt's comment was totally sarcastic. some jackasses were prolly like"oh he can do three-flips? well how many have you really landed?" |
