Well ive got this gocart(an 04) which is in great condition. Its been sittin in my uncles barn for 2 years since somethin broke(not on the motor). But anyway i started it up the 3rd try , hasnt been run in 2 years.
So i sat in it and realized i had grown prob 5 inches since i rode it last. I was thinkin......sell the frame and keep the motor. Id take the motor and make a winch out of it, just make mods to it. What do you guys think? Its a 2 seater yerf-dog gocart, they have them at sams club and a couple other stores. The motor is a 6.5 hp tecumseh engine, it tops out at 35 mph, so i dunno. Any input would help, such as if itd be way to much work or what.
Thanks, Ben

leave it on the car so you can take it anywhere. Just push the car where ever you need and make some sort of a brake on the cart so it doesnt move. Sick gocart winch......

I think it will work. I bet if you put a spool where the wheel is, you might not have to change anything. Just make a frame to hold the motor and spool.

| I'd keep it in the cart, fix it up and add on a PTO and seperate tranny for the whinch part. You'd have the fastest whinch in town.

i honestly dont know that much at all about motors. thats exactly what i was thinkin, put some type of spool along with a guide and making a metal mount like the blackbox has. Like i said, i dont know to much about motors, so if someone wants to pm me or im me we cn figure out what needs to be done.
headhuntermx4, i dont know. aim me or ill aim u tomorow and tell me what i need to look at. so i was thinkin like a blackbox (grinch to?)setup where its on the box with the square metal tubing. anywho any input would be great.
thanks!!!!!!

thats just a normal clutch for go-carts, that is basically the same idea as the grinch used at the brodeo, rewind and i belive the black box. u will be fine with that, its not as smooth as the grinch but it can easily be gotten used to.
youlls have to make a frame with motor mounts and a make the mounts so u can slide the motor bakc to tighten the chain. ull also need most likely a bigger sproketc cause that one is made full pulling a person and the go-kart and will not have the torque to pull u up.

True, securing it would make it able. I was picturing some dude ready to go and they start pullin him and the 4wheeler just gets pulled in the water
