I think that they'll make a more tech-friendly bi level deck thats alot thinner and alittle more concave. No fins

HA!!! jk but seriously it probably will greatly. in the past three years, its gone from a kickflip being a pro trick to being fairly common and stuff like 3 flips, bs bigflips, and w2w 3 shuvs being thrown. the boards also got a lot better and more innovative. or it could not, i dunno.

i think that wakeskating just started out as ghetto wakeboards without bindings, with no intensions on doing tricks, slowly but surely though, the boards became made for more aggressive tricks.

Prob the reason that the wakeskate design didn't drastically change the first few years was because it really was a leap of faith to make something so different from its orgin. They would not know if it would get aproval from all of the wakeboarders.

Now though, i think that the board shape is going to drastically change now its about as popular as wakeboarding.

thomas' 2002 3d cassette shape is the basis for most wakeskate shapes today imo.

i think right now the basis is that of cassettes but in the next couple of years ull see alot of innovations form underground companies, from the need to stand out to sell their products.
i also think fin design will change drasticly. im a big fan finless but i havent recently been needed a fin for some tricks and it helps with consistancy. but the way i see fins are that u have ski fins that wakeboarders adopted to their fins and then wakeskate fin that were adopted from wakeboards. stuff like the kampus bumps was the first fin i saw that was wakeskate specific and ull see alot more stuff like that. distortion will have some available soon. it will not affect the smoothness of a finless shuv and will give u the traction needed to ride away from a not perfect landing.
i also think that more of a kicktail design will start taking over in general shapes. form there only time will tell tho

How about in 5 years. Wake rolls, airwalks, heelflips, w2w flip variations. I don't think the boards will change much. It is a simple concept that works. I can see a lot more urban winch events like the brodeo taking over. This sport is evolving so beautiful.
