Hi everyone,
I've been skimboarding for a few years and was flicking through some old posts here and found that some others skim aswell. However i've only been wakeskating recently and am really starting to get into it. been using my foam skimboard as a wakeskate, but its a bit too sketchy at high speeds so im going to get a wakeskate next week.
Anyway, my question is why do you use grip tape instead of arch bars for the front foot similar to those made by poorboy and X-trac for skimming? im sure theirs a reason why you dont, i would just like to know.
Cheers
Chris |

Because your front foot moves around a lot, like in skateboarding. It can't really be fixed in place. Setting up for certain tricks, and tricks like pop-shuvits where you spin the board around would make arch bars a nuisance. Plus you are wearing shoes, and arch bars with shoes would be really weird. _________________

Arch bars are meant for bare feet and the arch of them ... hence arch bars. Its a foam traction pad and it does not work well with shoes but it works great with bare feet. Shoes with arch bars suck.. www.skimshop.com there is a section of arch bars if you care to see what the heel they are _________________ Justin Boisclair
