Headhunter~ This is my first dvd. I have been making dvd's for friends, but this is the first "big" project. yes it is a lot of work but well worth it. I have a professional studio as I have also done music production, I'm using an apple G-5 with Final Cut Pro HD. It has become a full-time job, and I love it! I can't wait until the final product is finished. I have been shoting for almost a year and am just starting the editing. I really enjoy wakeskating and feel that it dosnt get the coverage it deserves, so I'm putting some extra work into the skating section.

I'm located in Ga, but am originally from MI. I have filmed several local riders from GA,AL.TN. also a few pro's Lyman, J.D. Webb,Zane. I am focusing on all aspects of riding and hanging out with friends, there will be plenty of boat footage as well.I'm trying to promote talented rider's who arent sponsored but can throw down on a board/skate and represent the soul of the sport. Of course sponsored rider's are also welcome. I will be taking submissions until the middle of Oct. The film should be released early 2006. I am in the process of clearing all the songs and contacting sponsors. I would love to get some footage of Byerly, Grubb, etc..!!!

did you shoot these pros during a film shoot with good lighting, or when they were in your neck of the woods for a demo or something?

do you have any video you can upload or link us to so we can check out your work?

do you plan on reimbursing anyone who sends you footage? surely you'll be doing that since they are essentially shooting and capturing parts of your video for you.

does anyone else remember reading eric ruck's editoral in alliance last summer? i wish i still had that issue.

Thanks to everyone that has been supportive! Pirate I'm N. of ATL. Scott A~ The reimbursment the skater's get will be exposure, exposure, exposure. I am not making a dvd for profit, I have seen many dvd's that seem boring after a while and don't get you that amped to ride. I hope make a dvd that get's you amped to ride and supports talanted rider's that don't recieve that much exposure. I'm into rider's that are into the soul of the sport. Anyways...it's easy to sit back and be negative,if you think it's easy to produce a quality DIY vid/dvd go out and price a new apple G-5 with all the bells and whistles,2 cinema displays,"Final Cut pro HD", a decent camera, waterproof housing,"protools",+mackie mixing board for the soundtrack. Think the expense ends there? I dont ask for $$ from the rider's I shoot with my boat, a tank of gas now days is $60.00. If I have a chase boat I pay for that person's gas. Now my boat is in need of repair, soooo I have to get a person with a boat willing to pull my rider's and also pay for their gas. I spend 100% of my time setting up shoots, which involves contacting riders/boat owners/drivers etc.. I also am reponsible for contacting sponsor's for this project, editing the footage I've shot. I made a dvd for a friend that had some footage he shot, it took 8 hr's to edit, and finish. The dvd is 7 min. long. Did I mention I also have to pay for clearance rights for the songs in the soundtrack? Anyway's I wouldn't do this if I didnt truly love both wakeboarding and skating. So brng the negativity it's not gonna slow me down Smash

its not the equipment that makes the movie good, its the editor/cinematographer. its cool that you've decided to invest lots of money into some nice equipment, but that doesnt mean your video will be any better than the next person's.

wait...huh? thats IT? just 60 bucks for a tank of gas? isnt gas like 5 bucks per gallon in GA right now? that would buy you a whole 12 gallons.
_________
and now back to the questions that i asked in my last post that didnt get answered that i asked because i wanted to see if they would be answered.
